When Summer Thorne walked in, he was standing by the counter, making himself a cup of coffee.
Their eyes met, and Summer Thorne couldn't help but ask, "What are you doing at home?"
"Where else?" Timothy York asked. "Where should I be?"
"At the office, of course. In a meeting, or entertaining clients," Summer Thorne replied.
"Then how could I surprise you?" Timothy York replied.
Unsure of who was surprising whom, Summer Thorne slowly walked over and wrapped her arms around him.
Timothy York smoothly lifted her onto a nearby barstool as she said, "I just had dinner with Leo Morgan."
"Mm," Timothy York responded, his tone light.
"I also gave Laura Thorne a call," Summer said. "He took the opportunity to say a few words to her, too."
