Summer Thorne listened quietly until she was finished, then answered with just two words: "Thank you."
Hearing her response, Laura Thorne seemed even more upset and didn't speak again for a moment.
Just then, a waiter brought the food she had ordered, which nearly covered the entire table.
Laura Thorne placed a steaming soup dumpling on Summer Thorne's plate, but saw that Summer didn't even pick up her chopsticks, apparently having no intention of eating.
In the end, Laura Thorne put down her chopsticks as well.
"I know you're still thinking about that incident," Laura Thorne said in a low voice. "Ava, when I said this before, it might have just been speculation, but now I can be absolutely certain. Your father's death had nothing to do with Mr. Shaw. Please, don't keep misunderstanding him, okay?"
