Hearing the sounds of Louis Sutton returning to his room, Summer Thorne sat in her own for a long while before finally pulling the door open and stepping out.
The small apartment had been unusually lively all evening. Big shots like Mason Crawford and Timothy York had come and gone, and now, finally, silence had returned.

Summer Thorne could hardly bear to think about it.
She shut herself in the bathroom and took a shower that lasted nearly two hours. When she finally returned to her bedroom, she found several missed calls on her phone.
They were all from the Carrington Estate.
Even though it was the middle of the night, Summer Thorne called the number back.
On the other end, Eve answered quickly. "Young Madam…"
Hearing how wide awake she sounded, Summer Thorne couldn't help but ask, "Eve, you're still up? Did something happen?"
"Yes, the Young Master just came home…"
