When Mason Crawford arrived at Serena Garrison's apartment, the door was shut tight. Rose Stone was standing guard outside, pacing back and forth anxiously.
Hearing the elevator, she looked up and saw Mason Crawford. She immediately rushed over to him. "What took you so long?" she asked frantically. "Serena sent me a message saying she was getting ready to leave. I hurried over, but now she won't see me... I'm worried sick!"
But Mason Crawford only gave her a glance before walking straight to the door and knocking.
The door soon opened, revealing Serena Garrison in her wheelchair.
Rose Stone immediately rushed forward and grabbed Serena Garrison's hand. "Serena, do you have any idea how worried I was when I got your message? Why are you suddenly talking about leaving... Are you saying you don't want me as a friend anymore?"
Serena Garrison watched her with a gentle gaze and slowly pulled her hand back.
