Silas Dunn's eyes widened slightly at Summer Thorne's question. "Ah, you really don't know?"
"Even if he didn't tell you before, haven't you asked him these past couple of days?"
Summer Thorne watched his exaggerated reaction, saying nothing for a moment.
"Ah, right." Silas Dunn suddenly slapped his forehead. "Miss Quinn is still in Valois, so I guess you two haven't had a chance to see each other, have you?"
Summer Thorne set down her glass. "This wine is quite good. Is it expensive?"
Silas Dunn couldn't help but tilt his head and chuckle. "Getting a straight answer out of you is a real challenge, Miss Thorne… All right, all right. I know you're upset. Since it upsets you, we'll drop it. Let's just drink."
Silas Dunn offered her the glass again. Summer Thorne took it, only to set it down once more. "I have to get back, so I can't drink too much. Thank you for your hospitality."
