Summer Thorne slowly opened her eyes.
"Well, this is a pleasant surprise," she said. "What made you think to call me, Mr. York? Did you miss me?"
The other end of the line went quiet again.
Timothy York didn't answer.
"Ah, so you didn't miss me after all," Summer said. "Then is there something you wanted to tell me, Mr. York?"
A moment later, Timothy York finally said, "I was telling you to get to sleep early."
Summer said, "Waking someone up just to tell them to sleep early... You're so considerate, Mr. York."
"I won't disturb you anymore," Timothy York said. "Go to sleep."
"Don't!" Summer suddenly stopped him from hanging up. "You have such a nice voice, Mr. York. I want to listen to it a little longer. Can't I?"
Timothy York paused, then asked, "You're not going to sleep?"
Summer said, "Even if you don't miss me, Mr. York, I miss you... I wish you were here with me right now."
