I stiffened, my spine ramrod straight as Lord Fashire's glower pinned me in place.
I looked away. "I—"
"What have you done?" he growled, straightening from the door. "Edna's blood. Why is it on you?"
My heart raced. If I lied and he found out later, it would be worse.
"Edna tasted my blood."
The anger wiped clean from his face. "What?"
"She injured me and decided to taste my—"
He grabbed my arm and yanked me into the chamber with such force that it momentarily dazed me.
I tried to catch my balance as he slammed the door shut. He stood with his back to me, hands pressed against the door.
"What happened?" His voice was low. Tense.
He didn't voice it but I could sense the disturbance in his tensed form.
He truly hadn't sensed when any of that happened…
"She was bleeding," I admitted. "From everywhere… But it stopped after a short time... that was all."
"Stay here," he growled. "Do not move."
With that, he flitted out of the chamber to go check up on Edna.
