Chapter 51 - The Overpowered Spider Armor

The Spider Armor was something Peter had begun developing the moment he took control of Oscorp. No one else had a hand in it—this was a creation he built entirely on his own.

While retaining the Green Goblin suit's enhancements—boosted physical performance and a lightweight, form-fitting design—Peter pushed things far beyond that foundation. He integrated technologies that didn't even belong in this era, innovations that wouldn't appear until far into the future… technologies that would only one day be unveiled under Umbrella Corporation.

One of those upgrades came from an energy system originating from a planet inhabited by metallic lifeforms.

Its principles were strikingly similar to the Arc Reactor—yet in some ways, even more efficient. A fragment no larger than a fist could supply an enormous amount of power.

The downside? The material was impossibly rare.

The piece Peter possessed had been obtained through the altar system, and the price he paid was steep—every single priceless antique from Norman Osborn's private collection.

Unless Peter could one day build a machine capable of traveling into deep space, locating stars, and converting them into usable energy reserves, this power source would remain impossible to mass-produce.

After all, while such "spark cores" were incredibly efficient for advanced interstellar civilizations—arguably even surpassing Arc Reactor technology—for Earth's current level of development, something like melting down a star for fuel was… a bit unrealistic.

Beyond the energy system, Peter also equipped the Spider Armor with an advanced AI assistant.

After sacrificing the White House, he had gained access to all of Umbrella's technological database—including the complete source code of the Red Queen.

And truth be told, the Red Queen was a far superior artificial intelligence compared to J.A.R.V.I.S.

Strictly speaking, J.A.R.V.I.S. wasn't even a true AI yet—more like a highly advanced interactive program, not too different from systems like Siri or Alexa.

Only after encountering Ultron would J.A.R.V.I.S. undergo a true transformation. But for now… that moment was still far in the future.

With an AI assistant integrated, Peter could offload a huge amount of mental burden. For instance, during flight, the wing system—built using a fusion of Green Goblin glider mechanics and propulsion principles inspired by the One Punch Man universe—could be fully controlled by the Red Queen.

Tony operated in a similar way. Otherwise, managing countless variables mid-flight—humidity, temperature, wind resistance, velocity—would be utterly exhausting.

Of course, the Spider Armor's upgrades weren't limited to support systems.

Its combat capabilities had also been significantly enhanced.

An energy shield was an absolute necessity—something even Tony didn't have yet. Based on Peter's estimation, Tony wouldn't develop that kind of technology until after acquiring and studying Chitauri tech.

The Chitauri invasion would be a disaster… but also a turning point for humanity.

Before and after the Battle of New York, the level of technology Tony displayed was on completely different levels. Even within S.H.I.E.L.D., cutting-edge equipment began to emerge one after another.

There was no doubt—those advancements were born from reverse-engineering Chitauri technology.

But Peter's advantage didn't stop there.

He possessed technologies not just from the Chitauri, but from entirely different worlds. The kind of black-tech he held was enough to put him decades—if not centuries—ahead of the entire planet.

Beyond the energy shield, the Spider Armor was armed with ion cannons, high-frequency blades, and an entire arsenal of advanced weaponry.

After all, the technology he had obtained—traded for something as significant as the White House, something worth the equivalent of an Alpha-level mutant ability—was anything but ordinary.

A sharp sonic boom split the sky.

A red-and-gold armored figure streaked forward, flames blasting from beneath his feet as he cut through the air at high speed.

A second later, another figure followed close behind.

Red and blue, with massive mechanical wings extending from its back, the humanoid silhouette tore through the sky at a speed nearly impossible to track with the naked eye.

"This feels way better than driving a sports car!"

Peter's voice rang out through the comm system inside his helmet.

Tony glanced back—and no matter how much he accelerated, he couldn't shake Peter off.

The feeling was… uncomfortable.

In terms of talent, achievements—everything—the kid behind him wasn't inferior in the slightest.

And until now, Tony's greatest pride had always been his Iron Man armor.

It was the embodiment of his genius. The most perfect creation of his life.

Yet now… this kid had built something on the same level?

"Yeah, it beats driving a sports car," Tony replied, then frowned slightly. "But why exactly are you tagging along? I'm heading out to save people—not for a joyride."

Only now did it hit him.

They had just been chatting, and then he received the mission… but why had Peter followed him in the first place?

Peter chuckled.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. happens to be one of my biggest clients. So far, the largest order Umbrella has received comes from them. And as Umbrella's chief engineer and CEO, showing up in person to understand my client's needs—what's wrong with that?"

Since Tony refused to sell Iron Man suits, Peter's Red Devil series armor had naturally become S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top choice.

Designed as pure military hardware, the Red Devil armor's destructive power was no less impressive than the far more expensive Iron Man suits.

And those sales had already become Umbrella's primary source of income—second only to stock growth.

S.H.I.E.L.D. alone had placed an order for five hundred units.

At thirty million dollars per suit… that was on par with the price of advanced fighter jets.

"Just be careful," Tony said, his tone turning serious. "Nick Fury just sent word—this situation might be worse than we thought."

In truth, he didn't need to say it.

Ahead of them, a colossal storm of lightning stretched across the sky and earth, a terrifying spectacle that spoke for itself.

Something big… was waiting for them.
