Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Storm Before the Calm

The rain returned in sheets, drumming against the college roof and soaking the campus paths in seconds. Sana and Arjun ran side by side, slipping slightly on the wet pavement, hearts pounding in sync. The threat from earlier still loomed, and Arjun's eyes darted constantly, scanning every shadow.

"We can't keep running forever," Sana shouted over the roar of rain, grabbing his arm. "We need a plan!"

Arjun nodded, jaw tight. "I know… but we can't let them separate us. Not now. Not ever." His hand found hers, holding it firmly as they sprinted toward the old auditorium, a place he knew would give them cover.

Inside, water dripped from the ceiling, and the room smelled of damp wood and rain-soaked fabric. Sana shivered, wrapping her arms around herself. Arjun immediately draped his jacket over her shoulders, brushing her hair from her face. "You're not getting wet. Not while I'm here," he said, voice low, intimate, and protective.

Sana's heart ached at his care. "Arjun… thank you," she whispered, looking up at him. The storm outside mirrored the chaos of their hearts — fear, adrenaline, and the pull between them that had grown impossible to ignore.

Before they could rest, the sound of footsteps echoed through the auditorium. The intruders had followed them. Arjun's protective instincts flared instantly. He moved in front of Sana, body tense, eyes dark and calculating.

"This ends now," he muttered. "No more running."

The intruders emerged from the shadows, two figures flanking a taller, more menacing presence — the one who had been watching them all along. Arjun's hand instinctively found Sana's, squeezing it, anchoring both of them amidst the danger.

The taller figure stepped forward, hood falling back, revealing a face familiar and chilling — someone Arjun had crossed paths with long ago. "So… you finally brought her into this," the man said coldly. "She shouldn't have seen this side of you."

Arjun's jaw tightened. "She's my world. Anyone who hurts her dies here."

Sana's pulse raced, but she felt a strange calm in Arjun's presence. Even with danger so close, she knew he would protect her — and she would stand by him.

The intruders lunged. Arjun reacted with lightning speed, deflecting attacks and moving Sana behind him when necessary. Each moment was a blur of motion, but amidst the chaos, their hands never let go of each other. The connection between them was a lifeline — unspoken, powerful, and unbreakable.

Finally, after a tense struggle, the intruders were incapacitated, and the leader stepped back, smirking. "This isn't over," he warned before disappearing into the storm outside.

Arjun dropped to his knees, grabbing Sana's hands. "Are you hurt?" he asked, concern and relief mixed in his voice.

"No… I'm okay," she said, tears in her eyes. "Thanks to you."

Arjun pulled her into a tight embrace, forehead pressed against hers. "I don't care who comes for us, Sana. We'll face it together. Always."

Sana smiled through tears, wrapping her arms around him. "Always," she echoed.

For a moment, the storm outside became a distant roar. In the auditorium, drenched and breathless, they found warmth, safety, and the undeniable truth — their hearts belonged to each other, no matter the chaos surrounding them.

Cliffhanger: The immediate threat has passed, but the mastermind is still out there, waiting. How long can Arjun and Sana enjoy this moment of peace before the next storm hits? And what secret from Arjun's past could change everything?
