The words glowed softly.
Not blue.
Not red.
Gold.
Rin stared at them. He had seen countless System notifications since arriving in this world.
Some had been ridiculous. Some had been annoying. Some had threatened his life.
A few had even made him question whether the System secretly hated him.
But this one was different.
It felt... Important. Terrifyingly important.
Rin slowly raised his hand. His fingers passed through the golden letters.
Nothing happened.
"Unbound," he whispered.
Noctis stood beside him, his long silver hair falling over his shoulders.
"Yes."
Rin looked at him.
"You knew this would happen?"
"No."
"That's reassuring."
"I knew it was possible."
"Less reassuring."
Noctis almost smiled.
Almost. Then Rin noticed Sol.
The System's human form stood several steps away. He looked exhausted.
