It was less growth and more like nurture, and nurturing was an aspect of support magic.
categories like support and curse magic, all had limited uses, but they excelled in what they were made for, while broader magic, like the four elements, lacked power. That's why when using element magic, you have to have stronger meaning, or stronger words to accompany them.
So to nurture the mana berry bush, Isaac had a few methods. He could cast magic to help the berries mature, but that would use up the energy stored in the plant, and could make it wilt.
While the other method would be a circle that could make a habitat suited for the bush, that would effectively cut the amount of mana going to the healing circle, and would slow Isaac's recovery.
As Isaac was thinking over his choices, his stomach rumbled. The last time he ate was yesterday, before he gained his true world, so he put the berries on the side for now, and began to cut the bear meat into small cuts, so that he could eat for a while until his leg was better.
He was only going to use one of the cuts, and the others would be frozen again and put back into his true world. The thought of having a small universe inside himself, but only using it to store dead weights, and his next month of food.
'Out of anyone who had this power, I am most likely the only one who has used it solely for junk.'
He had the feeling that if Tiy knew, she would use it for storing a significant supply of cursed circles and that she would use the mass curse on people. She was just the person she was, she could only care for her goal, and someone like Isaac was just a lowly grunt who could be promoted to a knight.
Isaac placed the meat on a stone and began heating the stone up in order to grill the meat. This method made Isaac start to think of all the ways he could make tools that would help him in his day to day life.
Like a cooking stone that had a circle on it so that whenever meat was placed on it, the stone would heat up, or even a pair of utensils, since he has been eating with his hands.
Isaac outwardly sighed, dissatisfied.
"What does it take to get a fork and spoon in here. I already have two knives that could cut a bears head off, so why don't I have a fork that could let me eat that meat..."
"You know what. Nothing is stopping me from making my own utensils, I could even make a plate or some bowls."
This time, he sighed happily at the thoughts of the once mundane pleasures.
As Isaac flipped the meat to get an even cook, He reflected on what got him to this point, not that it needed much, since the past 17 years of his life were ingrained into him by his true world, and anything new would also join in the loop that is his life.
"Why is it that I use magic? I guess I keep using it since it's kinda easy to do quality of life spells, but does that really mean that I have to fight with it? I'm sure that if I worked out, I could get strong enough to fight."
Inner turmoil seemed to flow out of Isaac, as he realised that he had completely disregarded any form of physical training, and while he thought about it, even the enhancements he had done to himself during the fight were possible without magic, but with training.
He didn't know what to do. While magic was the quickest way to win a fight for him, physical training could still help a lot, mainly when he runs out of mana. Maybe if he had done some training beforehand, his leg would have still been healable with magic.
Isaac shook his head to get those thoughts out since they seemed to always come back to magic, almost like it had become a crutch for him, and all his problems could be solved with it.
Isaac cooled down the stone and began to eat the bear, which tasted a lot like the mana berries that were abundant in the glade.
Isaac was wondering why the bear was walking around here, but it seems like the bear mainly ate mana berries, and since Isaac took some, it hunted him down. When the month of rain started, it hid, and when the rain ended, the berries were gone, and it came for more, which is when Isaac fought it and lost.
'Hmm, so the bear was hungry after being starved for a month, that was right after it left hibernation. Wow, I really know how to take easy fights and make them harder for myself.'
As he was eating the meat, he felt a strong concentration of mana coming from the meat that was inside him. The meat had inherited the strong mana contents of the berries, and seemed to be greater than the berries.
Isaac immediately flowed the mana into the healing circle, gaining a few days worth of mana just from a small piece of meat. He began to reach into his true world to bring out another piece, but stopped himself since it was his only food.
He finished eating and began thinking of his next plans.
'I have a few options, I could focus on learning new things to increase the size of my true world. I could work on the berry bush. I could work on my aim with the knives, and bow, or I could work on uncovering more about the true world that my trait didn't tell me.'
After enough thinking for the sun to travel under the mountains, he finally got a plan.
He would work on both his aim and uncover his true world, with a little bit of arts and crafts.
