Chapter 66: Whoa! A Bald Head!

....

Night fell like ink spilled across the sky. A gentle breeze slipped through the window, stirring the curtains and bringing a faint, refreshing coolness into the room.

The bedroom lay dimly lit—only moonlight filtered through the thin curtains, casting a pale glow over the slightly messy bed. The air carried a faint, lingering scent of warmth and sweat… not unpleasant, but oddly captivating.

Minami Yume's chestnut hair was scattered across the pillow, a few damp strands clinging to Kihara's cheek. Her eyes were half-lidded, like a well-fed, lazy cat resting comfortably in its owner's arms.

The warmth from earlier still lingered in her body—just the slightest movement sent a faint tingling sensation through her limbs.

"…Kihara… I'm not dreaming, right?"

Kihara smirked slightly. He knew girls tended to get a bit insecure at times like this.

"How about I prove it?" he teased. "We could go for another round—I'll carry, you just trigger the passive."

"Don't 'carry' me anymore… I'm scared."

Yume quickly leaned in and placed a soft kiss at the corner of his lips, her voice gentle and pleading.

"…Next time, okay?"

He chuckled softly.

"Alright. Next time."

After everything they'd shared—both emotionally and physically—Yume's mental state had improved significantly.

If before she felt like someone emotionally drained and distant, now she was the complete opposite—like someone finally embraced by warmth after a long drought. The cold emptiness had vanished, replaced by something bright and full of life.

Though she still occasionally struggled with insecurity, Kihara was confident—once they uncovered the truth behind her sister's death, she would finally break free from the past.

"…Kihara… does this mean… I'm your girlfriend now?"

"Of course," he replied without hesitation. "Why wouldn't you be?"

"Hehe… nothing."

She smiled, then gave him a light peck.

"Come back early!"

"Yeah."

Like a newlywed seeing her partner off, Yume stood at the entrance and waved until he disappeared from sight.

Then she rolled up her sleeves with determination.

"Time to clean the house properly… I'm the lady of this home now!"

Meanwhile…

Kihara headed toward Z-City.

This time, he had a very specific goal—to meet Saitama.

After all, if you end up in the world of One Punch Man and don't visit Saitama… can you even call yourself an isekai protagonist?

On the way, he stopped by a supermarket and bought several boxes of premium ingredients.

Saitama's financial situation wasn't great—he hadn't even officially registered as a hero yet, meaning no salary or support. So if Kihara wanted to get closer to him quickly…

Food was the best approach.

He didn't know Saitama's exact address—just that it was somewhere near an overpass in the deserted zone. But that area barely had any residents. Finding a balcony with freshly hung clothes would probably lead him straight there.

At the same time, Kihara had another goal.

Bait.

If possible, he wanted to lure out the "Kaiju Supremacy" group—the ones targeting Yume. Ideally, all four would show up at once… so he could eliminate them in one go.

After casually taking down a few wolf-level monsters along the way, he turned a corner and saw him.

A shining, reflective bald head gleaming under the sunlight.

Kihara nearly blurted out instinctively.

"Whoa! A bald head!"

Saitama blinked.

"Huh? It's rare to see people around here… Are you here to look at houses too?"

Even S-Class heroes wouldn't choose to live in a place crawling with monsters and frequent power outages.

Kihara smiled and shook his head.

"No, I actually came to visit you."

"…Me?"

Saitama pointed at himself, confused.

Then it hit him—maybe this guy was someone he had saved recently.

"Ohhh! I've been a hero for so long, and you're the first person to come thank me in person!"

A small smile appeared on his face as he warmly invited:

"Come on, let's talk at my place!"

"Sure. I'm Kihara."

"Saitama."

Soon, they arrived at Saitama's home.

Just like in the anime—a cramped 30-square-meter apartment. To put it nicely, it was simple. To put it bluntly… nearly empty.

Aside from basic necessities, an old TV, and a worn-out laptop, there was barely anything else.

"Ah, sorry about the mess," Saitama scratched his head. "I just got back from grocery shopping."

"No worries," Kihara replied calmly. "A simple lifestyle usually reflects a refined spirit."

"Hahaha! You're pretty good with words!"

Saitama grinned, clearly pleased, and hurried into the kitchen to prepare tea—quietly celebrating to himself where Kihara couldn't see.

This guy's polite, grateful, and easy to talk to… nice kid!

When Saitama returned with tea.

his hands trembled.

On the small table sat five large, beautifully packaged boxes.

"Th-those are…?"

"A small gift," Kihara said. "I wasn't sure what you like, so I brought something most people enjoy—premium marbled beef."

"MARBLED BEEF?!"

Saitama swallowed hard.

"All of this… is for me?!"

"Of course."

Seeing Kihara's sincere expression, Saitama immediately set the tray aside.

"Don't leave! You're staying for lunch! We're having hot pot—I just bought ingredients!"

"Are you sure? These were meant for you…"

"No way! If you don't stay, I won't accept them!"

His heart was bleeding as he said that.

That was marbled beef! The kind he'd have to save up months for!

"…Then I'll gladly accept."

"Good! Just sit back and relax—I'll handle everything!"

Kihara took a sip of tea and glanced at the TV.

A breaking news report was playing.

"A massive swarm of mosquitoes is approaching Z-City. Livestock that have been bitten have been completely drained of blood. If you encounter the swarm, evacuate immediately."

Kihara's eyes narrowed slightly.

Mosquito Girl, huh…

That meant Genos would be showing up soon too.

Maybe I should go take a look.
