Chapter 8 Warehouse Pickup Day

next day

The two tidied themselves up and went out, traveling light. Their destination today was Moslow Street.

Moslow Street is located on the edge of the central area, a sparsely populated area. I walked along the street for more than ten minutes without seeing a single person. It is a good place to store and retrieve supplies.

Upon entering the warehouse, the two specifically checked for surveillance cameras. Then, Yu Miaomiao took charge of packing the boxes into her spatial storage one by one.

800 tons of gasoline and 500 tons of diesel. Even engine oil and windshield washer fluid were prepared.

There were thousands of boxes of weapons. Yu Miaomiao opened a few of them and found pistols, sniper rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, and various ammunition supplies, as well as grenades, bombs, landmines, smoke grenades, and flashbangs. Yu Miaomiao also noticed chemical weapons such as poison gas releasers.

Besides these, there were also some melee weapons. Lu An drew a Tang sword, the scabbard with two rings so it could be hung at the waist, the blade narrow and straight, the edge gleaming coldly. "This sword is not bad."

Yu Miaomiao's hands were sore from collecting so many spatial items. When she reached the last area, she saw several large objects covered with military-grade waterproof tarpaulins.

"Come help me." Yu Miaomiao couldn't pull it out by herself, so it took two people working together to see the true form of the behemoth: a multi-functional escape pod for earthquakes and tsunamis. Opening the door, they saw that the interior space was enough for about ten people, which was quite ample for an escape pod. Then, after estimating and counting, they realized Ji Feng had given them a total of five such escape pods.

Besides the escape pod, there were two other large, differently shaped vehicles. When the tarpaulin was removed, they turned out to be two Rheinmetall armored vehicles, which were amphibious.

Yu Miaomiao exclaimed "666!" without Ji Feng's help. She thought that without Ji Feng's help, they would never have had the chance to experience these things in their lives. She silently gave Ji Feng a thumbs up in her heart, knowing that her sisters had found someone they could entrust their lives to.

After collecting a warehouse full of items, Yu Miaomiao was so tired she could barely lift her hands. She wished her space could be upgraded so she could collect things with just her thoughts, without having to touch them.

Thinking about upgrading, Yu Miaomiao only went into the space for a short while when organizing and collecting supplies these days, but every time she went in, she found that there were subtle changes in the space. For example, the flowers, plants and trees changed with the seasons. Before, it was bleak in early winter, but these past two days, it has started to snow lightly.

Although the space changes with the seasons, it is only a change in form and there is no passage of time or qualitative change in the objects. I absolutely love this setting.

These subtle changes also suggest that there may be many aspects of the upgrades brought about by the previously devoured collections that she has not yet discovered.

After leaving the warehouse, Yu Miaomiao stretched and suggested that they go to the flea market in America to try their luck.

"Okay. As you wish." Lu An sent a message to Ji Feng to express his gratitude and transferred the funds through the secure account. He asked for help but couldn't take advantage of the situation for nothing; only then could he feel at ease taking the goods.

The two didn't have much money left, but they still went to the flea market with ease.

"I'm not going there to play, I'm going there to level up."

"I know that explaining is tantamount to covering up."

Inside the largest flea market in the United States

With a hot dog in her left hand and an ice cream in her right, Yu Miaomiao looked around, her eyes lighting up at everything she saw. Pointing at something, she turned and called to Lu An, "An'an, I want this."

She bought some nice collectibles. Perhaps it was because of the space, but any collectibles that could be absorbed by the space were shrouded in a faint halo in Yu Miaomiao's eyes, making them easily visible in front of the dazzling array of stalls.

Lu An swiped his card and paid in one smooth motion, carrying large and small bags, while occasionally receiving food from Yu Miaomiao.

Walking along the market, you soon reach the end. At the corner, there is an inconspicuous little shop that looks like it sells secondhand items. Yu Miaomiao peeks into the shop. The shop is very small, with only a transparent counter that is just over one person wide. There is no one in the counter, but you can hear the sound of someone tidying up things behind it.

Yu Miaomiao peered into the counter and saw a stone that looked very similar to the jade artifact in her space. The patterns engraved on it were similar, but the material was different from hers. This stone was dark black, like a piece of coal. The difference was that the halo on this stone was dazzling and almost blinded Yu Miaomiao's eyes. However, it was only visible to her. To an ordinary person, it was just an ordinary black stone.

Yu Miaomiao tugged at Lu An's sleeve and pointed at the stone. Following the direction of Yu Miaomiao's hand, Lu An quickly noticed the stone as well and calmly called out, "Is the boss here?"

After a long silence, Lu An had no choice but to take a deep breath and shout, "Boss, serve the customer!"

A commotion erupted behind the counter, with the sound of things being smashed. A small, elderly man with an Asian face emerged from behind the door, carrying the broken porcelain vase. He spoke fluent Chinese, "Oh dear, why are you all shouting so loudly? My porcelain vase!"

The boss is Chinese.

"We want to buy something." Yu Miaomiao pointed to the items in the counter, casually pointed to a few and asked about their prices, then casually pointed to the stone. She was afraid the owner would overcharge her, so she pretended not to care and didn't want to show that she really wanted to buy it.

The old man narrowed his eyes slightly, unable to hide the smile on his lips. "These meteorites are the treasures of my shop. There are three in total. If you want to buy them, you can buy them all at once. They're $1,000 per gram."

"A meteorite? It's just an ordinary rock. You think it's a meteorite just because you say so?" Lu An was clearly shocked by the price; it was worth more than gold.

Yu Miaomiao remained calm and didn't answer whether she wanted to buy or not. She only asked if all three pieces could be brought out for inspection. The old man went behind the door and rummaged through the drawers for a while before finally bringing out three boxes. One was empty, containing the stones from the display case. The other two were opened; one contained a light-colored crystal, and the other a dark blue stone slab.

Adding the dark, charcoal-like block in the counter, and the three stones with their different shapes, Lu An still felt the price was outrageous. "Old man, who are you trying to fool?" No matter how precious this thing is, it shouldn't be sold by the gram.

"If you can't afford it, shut up. Put the things down and leave, I won't see you out." The old man snorted and tried to shoo the two of them out the door. "You ignorant little brats."

"Boss, when you do business, you should sit down and talk things over. There's no reason to turn people away. Besides, we're from the same hometown. To be honest, I'm a student from Donghu University who's here for a study tour. I really like this thing, but we don't have that much money. Can we talk about the price?"

Seeing that Yu Miaomiao's attitude was quite sincere, the old man glanced at Lu An, who looked unwilling, and said, "Since your attitude is good, the lowest price is $998 per gram. Our store only accepts cash and does not accept credit."

"Boss, give me the local price, 900 per gram."

"950."

"Deal. An'an pays." Lu An was speechless; this girl really didn't know how to bargain.

"No, we'll offer $3,000 for the three pieces, not a penny more. Take it or leave it."

A stone weighs at least 200 grams, so it can't be bought by weight. "You can't be cheated when it comes to food," Lu An said, pulling Yu Miaomiao away without looking back.

"Come back, come back, I'll sell it to you." Lu An, a master negotiator. The humble little shop clearly desperately needed this business; he knew exactly what to do.

The old man took the stone out of the box, casually put it in a plastic bag, and handed it to them.

After exchanging money and goods, Yu Miaomiao left the shop without immediately putting the items into her spatial storage. Instead, she found a secluded spot and slipped into her spatial storage with Lu An.

Just then, Ji Feng's secretary knocked on the door and came in, saying, "They've transferred the money to the account. Should we return it?"

"No need, just do everything according to her wishes. How are our supplies going?" The man sat by the window, flipping through a book, his expression impassive.

"Everything has been prepared as you instructed."
