Chapter 34 - ~ Shadow Monarch in Invincible

~"It's kind of like peeing your pants on purpose. You know, you spend your whole life trying not to pee your pants, so letting go, peeing your pants on purpose, it's next to impossible." – Omni-Man to Invincible on Viltrumite flying

~ Shadow Monarch-Copy - POV ~

~ Hidden Guardians of the Globe HQ, Utah ~

'It seems like I've arrived at the perfect moment in the timeline for collecting the genetic template of a Viltrumite; and a pure-blood of the royal bloodline at that, not that he even knows that yet.' I ruminate to myself as I took in the fortress interior of the headquarters for the Guardians of the Globe. An alternate version of the Justice League of the DC universe or the Avengers of the Marvel universe.

I had chosen the Invincible tv-verse as I hadn't had the chance to read any of the comic books of said verses and had only been able to watch the show in my past life. Luckily I was able to recognize the tv-verse of the comic's and drop right in at the beginning of the show, going by the fact that the Guardians of the Globe are still alive for now, at least for the next hour or so until Omni-Man shows up.

It probably would have been a whole lot easier to have gone after Mark Grayson aka Invincible to collect the DNA from a Viltrumite, even a half-human one, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the thousands of years of fighting and conquering experience that would come from Nolans blood. Plus the bonuses of the select few of the Guardians abilities that are so readily available after Omni-Man is finished with his massacre of them. Red Rush and his super-speed alone would be worth it.

'On second thought, Omni-Man should be the only person whose blood I should devour at this time. All the other Guardians are lesser copies of their DC or Marvel counterparts, not that important to collect. Creating Shadow Soldiers out of some of them on the other hand... hmmm, maybe.' I contemplated as one by one the Guardians of the Globe started arriving within Guardians HQ.

As all of the guardians arrived, Darkwing being the last to arrive, Immortal questioned Darkwing who arrived last of this discrete meetup.

"Darkwing, why did you call us here?" Immortal asked the Dark Knight counterpart of an hero as he jumped down from the shadowed rafters above. But Darkwing didn't know either, at least that what the questioning look upon his face conveyed to the rest of the Guardians.

"Me?" Darkwing questioned back. That alone set all of the Guardians on edge, all tensing up and immediately falling into alert stances.

"So none of as signaled the alert?" War Woman says as she raises her mace and cautiously looks around for any danger. "Oh God, what's going on, is it bad?!" Green Ghost frightfully claims as she and the others continue to look around as tension rises in the room.

That's when Red Rush noticed a shadowy figure flying straight towards the Immortal aiming to take him. Red Rush saves him just in time, pushing the Immortal out of the way of the figures fist, but the figure then is revealed to be Omni-Man.

"Omni-Man?!" Immortal shouts out in surprise after the Omni-Man stopped himself in the middle of the room, surrounded by the Guardians in a semicircle.

Admits the surprised exclamations, War Woman shouts and is the first of the Guardians to attack Omni-Man. Omni-Man takes a few hits from Darkwings exploding projectiles and Red Rushs speeding punches before Aquarus tries to blast him with a jet of pressurized water, which Omni-Man tanks before fly above the stream and aiming a punch at Aquarus. But Aquarus is saved by Red Rush.

Red Rush having saved Aquarius's, life speeds back in throwing punch after punch at Omni-Mans head. Yet Omni-Man barely reacts to said punches as seems to be calmly awaiting and opportunity, which come soon enough when he reaches out catching Red Rush by his wrist. He the quickly clamps both hands on both sides of his head before horrifically crushing his skull while the other Guardians watch in shock and terror. Even with my perception stretching the time slowly, I wouldn't have been able to do anything but watch as Red Rushs skull was crushed while he hammered away at Omni-Mans chest at super-speed.

"Nooo!" Exclaim War Woman and Immortal as the other Guardians watch in shock as Red Rush became the first causality of this unexpected disaster.

In a combined attack, Martian Man restrains Nolan, while War Woman and Immortal begin to attack him. Omni-Man frees himself continues to progressively overpower and further try to slaughter them; smashing War Woman's s head against the floor and grabbing her by her braided hair to finish her of, but is stopped by more of Darkwing's exploding projectiles, which he dodged by stepping aside.

From my vantage point above the ongoing carnage; I watch as Darkwing propelled himself up into the rafters while sending those exploding projectiles to save War Woman. I watch as he angles himself to drop down onto Omni-Man; which seems like a stupid thing to do in my opinion, the man is a pale shadow of the Dark Knights tactical brilliance.

I'm proven right when Omni-Man just catches Darkwing by the ankle before pulling a Hulk vs Loki by smashing him to the ground twice; the first smashing Darkwing's face and then the second smashing open and splattering his brains out on the floor. Omni-Man then distracted Green Ghost by throwing Darkwing's corpse at her, who catches her colleague's corpse and stares at it long enough to drive his fist through Green Ghost's head after she turned back from her intangible state to catch the body of her dead colleague. He then uses her body as a shield against Aquarius's water attack.

As Aquarius has him pinned with Attack the remaining Guardians regroup and reconvene. Martian Man once again taking his humanoid form next to Aquarius, and the Immortal grabs War Woman by the arm to get her back on her feet.

"Are you alright?" Aquarius asks Martian Man once his whole again, to which he responds, "I'll live."

"Someone must be controlling him. He would never do this." Says Immortal as he helps War Woman to her feet.

"Regardless, it's either him or us." Responds as she gets her breathing under control after having her head slammed into the floor. After sharing a look with her the Immortal response to that is, "I choose us."

War Woman is again the first to get back into the fray landing a heavy overhead strike on Omni-Mans head, yet he shakes of the hit quick enough to dodge her follow up strikes even batting her away after a stike of her mace misses and spiderweb cracks the floor, the hit making War Woman involuntarily release her mace. After dealing with War Woman's heavy strikes and catching her mace, Omni-Man turns to Aquarius and bashes his head on with War Woman's mace.

An enraged Martian Man once again traps and subdues Omni-Man briefly while the two remaining Guardians, The Immortal and War Woman, batter him, drawing whole globs of blood. Eventually though, Omni-Man finds and rips Martian Man's core to pieces, punches a hole through The Immortal's stomach dropping him to his knees, and breaks War Woman's neck with her head facing her back. The last Guardian to live, The Immortal stares at him, still conscious, and, weakly, yet decidedly asks him what drove him to commit the rampage. Omni-Man, without responding, decapitates him with his hand and, heavily injured, collapses himself in exhaustion among the remains of his betrayed 'friends' unconscious.

'That was far more brutal to watch live than it was to just watch on the screen. Anyway, I should get to drinking some Viltrumite blood before Cecil and the GDA arrive.' I think to myself as I stepped out of the shadows I used to concel myself with my Umbrakinessis. I then reached down with one of my new favorite abilities, Rulers Authority, to hoist up Omni-Mans body to me in the rafters.

I don't know if it's because of his Viltrumite instincts or if he was just pretending to be unconscious, but as soon as he was in front of me Nolan 'Omni-Man' Grayson awoke and tried to struggle out of my telekinetic hold of him. Luckily I still had my shadows covering me so all he could see was a shadowy figure with burning violet eyes somehow restraining him in midair.

"A child... what-" Before he could say anymore I clamp his mouth shut with Rulers Authority and released some of the shadows covering my lower face so he could see the elongation of my fangs. The sight of which made the blood in his veins start pumping harder.

"Don't worry about what I am Nolan, Earths conqueror for the Viltrumite Empire, I'm just here to collect some Viltrumite blood. And don't fret, I won't need to much, just a couple mouth full. Plus, my doing this should help you convince Cecil that you were controlled by someone if he ever gets suspicious of you. Anyway, thanks for the meal." I say to him with a massive monstrous grin before chomping down on his neck.

'Viltrumite DNA acquired.'
