My eyes widened in complete, instantaneous shock the very moment Daniel voiced what he wanted us to do.
For several seconds, I could only stare at him, utterly stunned by the sheer recklessness of his suggestion. My mind struggled to process what I had just heard, as if somehow, if I remained silent long enough, his words would suddenly make more sense.
But they didn't.
Was he seriously about to risk all of our lives on a reckless gamble?
A gamble that could easily cost every single one of us our lives?
What absolute, suicide-mission nonsense was he talking about?
The thought alone sent a surge of disbelief through me, and before I could even find the right words to express my objection, Aidan exploded.
