"From the later intel I got, Daniel's troops were able to cross paths with the quadruplets directly," Alaric explained quickly, stammering slightly under my heavy stare. "But as of right now, no other news has been brought back from the front lines."
I immediately clenched my fists, my mind racing as rage and disbelief warred inside me.
How could those arrogant quadruplets possibly have planned and executed a counter-ambush of this scale in such a ridiculously short period of time?
I must have really underestimated them.
The realization settled heavily in my mind as I replayed everything that had happened, my frustration slowly hardening into something far colder.
