I knew that I would feel out of place by Wren's side in the hospital. As she was being there for her mother... meeting her mother for the first time... no, that was a special moment. One I did not want to spoil. And, as Kael rushed away, I felt sad for my maid... my sister, because if anyone should be there, it should have been him. I just hoped he would find a way to make it up to her. Because whatever he was attending seemed urgent, going off the expression upon his face. Surely it had to be urgent to snatch him away from his mate in her time of need...
I walked away from the hospital with no plan as to where to go. Allowing my legs to move freely, and my mind to wander. But, no sooner had I begun walking, my phone began to buzz from within my pocket. I reached down, and immediately saw that it was my father. Of course. He was aware that I was in the pack that his fated mate now lay within. It was clear why he was calling.
