For the next two days I threw myself into clearing out the garden. Monday was spent almost entirely hacking at the brambles and dragging them into a fire pile at the far end of the space. I was genuinely surprised by how large the greenhouses turned out to be once all the overgrowth was gone. Tuesday, which was today, I had moved on to picking through the broken items inside them, greenhouse panels, smashed planters and cracked pots, all going into a separate pile for the landfill.
I wanted to spend every available hour out there but training still came first every morning. Sean had us working on higher intensity sessions now, mixing weights with boxing rather than just one or the other. I had gained ten pounds since arriving, which across roughly three months felt like something worth being proud of. Kate seemed pleased too when I saw her on Sunday evenings every two weeks, and her approval meant a lot to me.
