He growled, his hazel eyes flashing down at me.
I rolled my eyes. "You deserved it. You were being an asshole."
I had been sitting in the living room stewing over the fact that Phoenix had been too much of a coward to talk to us himself. Charlie had tried to reason with me afterward, saying it was better he handled the conversation because Phoenix would have snapped and potentially hurt Sean. He was probably right about that, but the rest of it, the parts about me, were unnecessary. A normal mate would have come and asked me the questions himself.
