"Me? I'm just a stupid sister who accidentally got injured a few days ago and is now being strictly managed by her younger sister."
"Don't overthink it. I'm not exactly a good person, but I don't have any ill intentions toward you, and that person surnamed York certainly won't have any bad ideas either."
As for why Melanie kept Eriko here, Leticia didn't know the answer for now, but it definitely wasn't because Yori had knocked Eriko down.
That would make no sense.
Even if Yori hadn't hit her then, this girl would have collapsed anyway. The only difference would probably be being sent to the hospital by a kind passerby.
"You have quite a few secrets. Since you don't want to reveal them, I won't force you. But you should also think carefully: are Yori and Melanie really not worth your trust?" Leticia patted Eriko's shoulder and said with a touch of emotion.
A hint of conflict flashed in Eriko's eyes. "Do you trust Leticia and Sister Bai Ling very much?"
"No."
"Eh?" Eriko was stunned. You don't even trust them, yet you're telling me to trust them? Are you kidding me?
"I am a very suspicious person. Leticia is still too young; I can't give her one hundred percent trust. As for that bastard surnamed York, I have a bit of a history with her."
"But you and her seem to have a good relationship."
"Your illusion," Leticia said flatly.
"Illusion..."
"That's not something a little girl like you should worry about. The grudge between her and me is complicated, but if you really want an answer, well, I do trust her quite a bit."
..."What did that Eriko talk to you about, Sister?" Back home, Kira poked her small head out of the bathroom, wrapped only in a bath towel, and asked Leticia.
"Nothing, just some trivial matters." Leticia told Kira about her conversation with Eriko. She really couldn't figure out what the girl was thinking.
She made it so mysterious, but in the end, she only asked about that.
"She seems to distrust us very much." Kira showed a thoughtful expression.
"You brat, just hurry up and shower." Leticia reached out and pushed her sister's head back into the bathroom. "Don't think too much. We didn't come here to be detectives."
Let Melanie worry about Eriko's affairs. The two of them, as demons, should just stay home peacefully.
"I know, but I'm just a bit curious." Kira chuckled. Her curiosity had always been very strong.
"If you're really bored, it's fine to go and investigate."
"I'll pass then. I still need to properly supervise you, Sister."
"If we don't mention that, we're still good sisters."
...On the first night back in the Human World, Leticia slept very, very soundly.
Lying next to her was a soft body pillow. The feeling of hugging it was simply exquisite. Leticia began to regret not hugging Kira more often in the past.
"I really don't know who's the older sister and who's the younger sister." Kira expressed slight dissatisfaction with Leticia's initiative in hugging her.
Shouldn't it be the younger sister hugging the older sister to sleep? Why was it the other way around for them?
"Don't worry about those details." Welcoming the morning sunlight, Leticia sat up in bed and stretched.
Her slender waist, which could be encircled by a single hand, was outlined by her white silk nightgown, adding a touch of unique charm to the girl out of thin air.
If only there were some curves on her chest, this would be a total knockout. Unfortunately, it would remain a permanent regret.
Washing and changing as usual, under Kira's supervision, Leticia had to dress properly even at home.
However, Kira also knew her sister didn't like overly complex clothes, so most of what she prepared for Leticia was very light loungewear.
This suited Leticia's taste. The only point of dissatisfaction was Kira's obsession with dresses; Leticia hadn't gone a single day without wearing one lately.
And since she was wearing a dress, for the sake of aesthetics, Luna took out her long-cherished stockings. With Kira's help, they put these beautiful and comfortable socks on the resistant Leticia.
"It seems Kira is managing you well." This surprised Melanie, who came over for her daily visit. A Leticia who dressed properly at home was indeed a rare sight.
Today, Leticia was wrapped up quite tightly. Her black long dress reached just above her ankles, and her small, jade-like feet were covered by somewhat thick white socks, presenting an enticing hue.
I want to reach out and touch them. Such a thought popped into Melanie's mind.
No, no, Kira is still watching. Quickly suppressing that strange thought, Melanie said, "I need to go to the Hero Association. Do you want me to call the Captain over?"
"The Captain? What does she think of me?" Leticia was a bit curious about how the Captain viewed her now.

She had exposed her identity as a demon in front of the Captain. Although the Captain hadn't shown anything unusual in Fog City, Leticia felt the Captain couldn't be as indifferent as she appeared.
The hatred between humans and demons is etched into their very bones. The Captain's generation grew up being taught that 'demons are villains, Orcs are villains, and elves are villains too.' It was unlikely they would have no reservations about Leticia's identity.
"Surprisingly well," Melanie chuckled.
Perhaps under other circumstances, the Captain would have started to agonize over it; Yuna was her good friend, but Yuna was also a demon. Yet, in all the years she had spent with her, she never once felt that Yuna was a demon.
Perhaps this meant that Yuna was different from other demons?
There are good demons and bad demons among the Demon Race, and I can be friends with the good ones.
That was likely how she convinced herself.
But now, due to the obviously ambiguous relationship between Melanie and Leticia, the Captain convinced herself with just one sentence.
"Even the Sword Saint is friends with Yuna, so why can't I be friends with her too!"
Who was Melanie? The Stellar Sword Saint!
The guardian of humanity, the strongest of the human race!
If she was friends with Yuna, what did that prove? It proved Yuna wasn't a bad demon.
Otherwise, the Sword Saint would have finished Yuna off long ago; she wouldn't be all touchy-feely like this. The Captain even caught a whiff of gossip; there was definitely a hazy relationship between her Yuna and the Sword Saint.
With Melanie vouching for Leticia, who would dare say a single word against her?
Furthermore, what happened in Fog City was kept strictly confidential at Melanie's request. Only the three of them, including the Captain, knew Leticia's true identity.
"They've been training very hard lately. Their experience in Fog City gave them quite a sense of crisis," Melanie said.
"No wonder the Captain didn't come online yesterday. It seems her gaming time has shortened quite a bit."
"They have to train. After training and washing up, it's about time to rest." Melanie had heard a bit about the Hero Association's training; though she hadn't experienced it herself, its reputation preceded it. "After a day of training, even the most energetic hero would fall asleep the moment their head hits the pillow."
"You would too?"
"I wouldn't." Melanie shook her head. She had completely transcended the concept of humanity; to her, that training was no different from children playing house.
"Oh, that's really disappointing then," Leticia said, slightly annoyed. "Alright, alright, hurry up and get to work."
She felt that speaking so politely to Melanie for so long was already giving her plenty of face. If they kept talking, she was afraid she wouldn't be able to stop herself from letting out a string of curses.
Kira was sitting right beside her watching TV. If her sister heard her swearing, Leticia had no doubt she would be severely lectured again.
"Well then, goodbye."
"Hope to never see you again!"
