CHAPTER 4: THE METAL EATER
SFX:SCREECH—CRASH!
The infinite road didn't just loop; it shattered. The car didn't sink—it slammed into an invisible wall in the middle of the jungle. The hood crumpled like paper. Glass exploded inward.
Aarav: (Coughing through the airbag) Everyone... out! Get out now!
They tumbled onto the dark soil. But the figure standing in the headlights wasn't the woman in the white saree anymore. The "Indian Look" was a lie—a glamour that had just faded.
The True Face of the Entity
Aarav looked up, and his breath hitched. Her skin wasn't moonlight; it was a translucent, veined grey, like wet marble. Her hair wasn't hair—it was a nest of black, needle-thin tendrils that twitched independently. She had no nose, just two vertical slits, and her mouth was a jagged horizontal line that stretched from ear to ear.
But her eyes... they were massive, lidless globes of pulsing violet radiation.
Aarav: (Trembling) You... you're not human. You never were.
The Creature: (A sound like grinding metal) I... AM... THE... HUNGER.
The Last Stand
Aarav reached into his jacket. His hand closed around the cold grip of his 9mm Pistol. He had kept it a secret the whole trip, but now, it was their only hope.
Kabir: Aarav! What are you doing?!
Aarav: (Aiming with shaking hands) GET BACK!
SFX:BANG! BANG! BANG!
The muzzle flashes lit up the jungle. Three bullets hit the creature square in the chest. She didn't flinch. She didn't bleed. She just tilted her head.
With a speed that defied physics, she vanished and reappeared inches from Aarav. Her long, grey fingers wrapped around the gun. The metal groaned. With a single hand, she crushed the steel barrel like it was made of chocolate.
Aarav: No... that's impossible...
She didn't shoot him. Instead, she brought the crushed pistol to her wide, jagged mouth.
SFX:CRUNCH. SNAP.
She began to eat the pistol. She chewed the hardened steel and swallowed the lead bullets as if they were candy, sparks flying from her teeth.
The Danger Zone
Riya: (Screaming) She's eating the metal!
The creature turned her gaze toward the wrecked car. She lunged, her jaw unhinging to an impossible size. She bit directly into the car's door, tearing off a massive chunk of the frame and chewing it loudly.
Meera: She isn't just a ghost... she's a parasite. She eats the things we bring from the outside world!
The Creature: (Mouth dripping with black oil and sparks) MORE. I... NEED... MORE.
She stopped eating the car and looked at the four friends. She realized that while the car was metal, their bones held the minerals she craved.
Aarav: RUN INTO THE DEEP JUNGLE! DON'T LOOK BACK!
As they fled, the creature let out a high-pitched, electronic shriek that shook the very leaves off the trees. The hunt wasn't over. It was just beginning.
