Ficool

Chapter 1 - 1-.

So tired.

I can't hear what they're saying anymore.

My vision is blurry.

I can only faintly feel my mother holding my hand and a little moisture; I think she's crying. I want to tell her not to cry, but my voice won't come out.

I closed my eyes for a moment because my eyelids are so heavy, and it's getting harder and harder to open them... I think I've died. I can't feel Mom holding my hand anymore, and everything around me is just darkness. I feel like my body is floating aimlessly.

I don't know how long I've been floating here in nothingness, but I've had time to remember my life.

Although there isn't really much to remember since I didn't live very long, only 19 years, 13 of which I spent in a hospital room because of a rare disease for which there was no cure.

I managed to live to 19 because my family had the money to pay for a treatment that would extend my life expectancy for a few years while they tried to find a cure.

Mom said they were almost there, but my body couldn't take it anymore.

During my time in the hospital, I could do very little. Since I couldn't leave the hospital and go home, I practically lived there, and to keep me occupied, Mom arranged for me to have private tutors.

By the time I was 13, I had finished my studies, and Mom let me learn other things because if I continued, it would be university studies, and they didn't want me to get stressed out any more. So, the next thing I learned was languages. I spoke and wrote fluently in Spanish, English, French, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, German, Italian, and Korean.

I also learned a little drawing to pass the time between classes and distract myself. When I turned 16, I wanted to learn to play an instrument, but my illness worsened, which meant I could no longer get out of bed, and my hands weren't strong enough to hold things.

When that happened, my family tried to cheer me up, which was a little difficult at first. Since I could practically do nothing, one day my parents decided to set up a small movie theater in my hospital room.

The first thing they let me watch was a cartoon called The Sword in the Stone, about an old wizard named Merlin and a little boy named Arthur. It was entertaining to watch the boy's magical adventures.

I also discovered anime; my favorite was Inuyasha. Others I really liked were Overlord, Naruto, Youjo Senki, Goblin Slayer, Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, and Zero no Tsukaima.

As for movies, my favorites were the Harry Potter series. It was a shame I discovered it so late; I only managed to watch the entire saga once before my illness worsened.

I couldn't get out of bed for anything. My vision blurred, and it was difficult to breathe without being connected to a machine. At that moment, I just wanted to die quickly. I didn't want my mother to suffer anymore. It hurt every time I heard her cry when I thought she was asleep.

I never liked seeing her cry. I felt terrible for them because I could never be a good daughter they could be proud of.

I stopped thinking about what had become of my life when I noticed a point of light. I tried to move toward it, and it seemed to work because the point kept getting bigger.

When the point was at least a meter wide, I felt as if something suddenly pulled me toward it at great speed. The point grew larger and larger until I felt it sucking me in, and the brightness blinded me for a moment.

When I could open my eyes again, I was lying in a bed in a completely white room. I turned my head, trying to find something or someone in the room, and I found it.

On the other side of the room, seated in a chair behind a desk, was a very beautiful woman. She was easily the most beautiful woman I've ever met (though I haven't met many). She seemed to notice me, as she looked up from the document she was reading, and when her eyes met mine, she gave me a soft smile.

"I see you've woken up."

Wow, even her voice is pretty. I saw her smile, amused.

"Thank you for the compliment."

I was stunned by what she said and couldn't help but think, "Did she just read my mind?"

"Yes, my dear, I can know what you're thinking."

I felt my eyes widen in surprise at her words and blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"Are you a god?

" "A goddess, actually, well, at least one of several. You can call me D if you wish.

" "D, is that your name?

" "Hahaha, not really. It's just that my name is something you humans can't pronounce, so I chose that."

"D, is this heaven?"

"Not really... we're in what we call Limbo. This is where souls come before their judgment.

"So you mean I'm here to see if I go to Heaven or Hell?"

"Not exactly. It's more to see your karma, and depending on the result, you'll be given some options."

D held up the documents she'd been reading when I first saw her.

"I've finished reviewing your history, and I have to say you're one of the few souls I've received in millennia with a high level of positive karma. Thanks to your karma, your options are as follows."

D snapped her fingers, and a screen with two options appeared in front of me.

[Go to Heaven.]

Reborn in another world.

" If you choose the first option, your soul will be guided to paradise where you can live in peace and tranquility until the time comes for your soul to enter the cycle of reincarnation once more."

" On the other hand, if you choose the second option, you will be sent to a random world, and with your karma points, you can choose some benefits and, if you wish, you can keep all your memories."

I was truly surprised by what I had just heard and couldn't help but get excited at the thought of going to a fantasy world and having some adventures, but I also had some doubts.

" Can I know what the worlds I could go to are like if I choose the second option?"

" Of course, they are some of the worlds I am in charge of, so you may have heard the names of some of them, since, like you, there were others with the same opportunity, and they left a bit of their former worlds as stories in books and movies, among other things. An example I could give you would be... Inuyasha."

" Are you saying that if I accept the second option, I could go to the world of Inuyasha?"

"That would depend on your luck, but... yes, you could go to the world of Inuyasha."

When I heard I could go to the world of one of my favorite anime, I got really excited, and without thinking twice, I chose the second option. As soon as I did, I saw the tip of my finger glow, and the next second, the screen in front of me disappeared. In its place appeared a huge roulette wheel with many names, of which I only managed to read a few, like Pokémon, Halo, Overlord, Harry Potter, and Star Wars, before it started to spin.

I watched it spin rapidly for what felt like a minute before it began to slow down, finally stopping on...
