Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 The Little Girl

After seeing the sable off, Shen Muyu passed through several more stations, bringing the total number of stops to over 20. However, there was still no sign of the end. This kind of journey without a destination was quite a test of patience.

Feeling a little anxious, Shen Muyu gently stroked the little black dog on her lap, wondering when the woman in black would finally take her pet away. Shen Muyu's legs were starting to feel numb.

The little black dog whimpered a few times, then got up to change its position, and Shen Muyu took the opportunity to lift her leg and move it to her other leg.

In this way, the man and the dog developed some understanding, and Shen Muyu's mood improved because of the little guy, and his original anxiety was also soothed.

Unfortunately, this harmonious atmosphere was broken at the next stop. As if sensing something ominous, the little black dog became somewhat panicked and kept stomping on Shen Muyu's legs. Seeing this, Shen Muyu also became cautious.

The station ahead wasn't large. On the platform were two figures, one tall and one short. As Shen Muyu approached, he realized that the shorter figure was a humanoid creature crouching on the ground, while the taller one was a little girl with a baby face.

The parking space on the platform was very small, and no matter how hard Shen Muyu tried, he was still very close to the two people who didn't look quite right.

The little black dog stood up straight and stared directly at the two people. It was the first time Shen Muyu had ever seen it like this, and her heart sank a little. However, remembering her rules, she wasn't too afraid.

The two walked slowly to the passenger seat. Strangely, the humanoid creature did not stand up; it came over on all fours.

The crouching humanoid creature barely revealed half of its face, which was covered with wounds, some of which had scabbed over and others were still bleeding, as if a face had grown out of the wounds.

In contrast, the girl looked much more normal. She had big, smiling eyes and a slightly curved cherry-like mouth. However, although her features were beautiful on their own, they seemed somewhat out of place and even unbalanced when put together.

The more Shen Muyu looked at the face, the more eerie it seemed, and then she looked away.

After standing in front of the passenger seat for a while, the girl spoke up, "Sister, why didn't you open the door for me?" Her tone was slightly aggrieved, but her expression remained unchanged.

"Sorry, this vehicle is only for pets. You'd better find another vehicle." Upon hearing this, Shen Muyu turned his gaze back to the girl and said with a standard smile.

The girl was slightly taken aback when she heard this, but the next second she smiled even more brightly, her cherry-sized mouth stretched to an unbelievable size, the corners of her mouth almost touching her ears.

"Sister...who says it can't be a pet..." The normally sweet voice sounded very strange under the deliberately slowed tone.

Perhaps thinking that the creature beside her only showed half its face, the girl slowly raised her left hand. In her hand she held a rope, and the other end of the rope was connected to the neck of the humanoid creature.

The creature didn't struggle; it simply raised its neck with the girl's strength, and was then forcefully hung up from behind.

Its face gradually turned red, and then it began to unconsciously roll its eyes.

Seeing this, Shen Muyu's temples throbbed violently. Letting such a humanoid creature onto the vehicle was simply too uncontrollable, and Shen Muyu didn't even know if it could be considered a "pet".

Licking his lips, Shen Muyu released the brakes and glided forward a few meters, but at that moment the candle suddenly shone brightly, forcing Shen Muyu to stop.

She hadn't left the platform yet, so she hadn't violated the first rule. This meant that what the little girl said was true, and that this humanoid creature could be considered a "pet."

Seeing the two people follow again, Shen Muyu sighed.

"Sister, can I get on the bus this time?" The girl's grin hadn't completely disappeared as she stared at Shen Muyu with that smile.

"It can." Shen Muyu forced a fake smile. These two guys were very strange; it was best not to provoke them.

After speaking, the girl opened the back door of the truck, and the humanoid creature took the rope from the girl's hand and climbed into the back of the truck.

The little creatures that were originally at the back all huddled together, as if facing some kind of raging flood or ferocious beast.

The little black dog didn't lie down anymore, but instead stuck its head out, staring intently at the guy crouching behind it.

The girl followed the rules; after seeing it get in, she casually closed the car door and showed no intention of getting in herself.

"Sister, we'll meet again." The girl smiled and waved to Shen Muyu, then walked into the darkness.

As if possessed by magic, Shen Muyu's heart skipped a beat, then began to pound wildly until she drank a few sips of water and felt a little better.

In fact, Shen Muyu paid great attention to adjusting his mental state throughout the journey. He would feel the urge to urinate if he drank too much water, but he dared not get out of the car in this environment, so he could only control his water intake.

The girl's words kept echoing in Shen Muyu's ears until Xiao A's announcement came on, which made him feel a little better.

Shen Muyu remained focused the entire way, fearing that she might encounter the same scenario as at the beginning.

After a long time without any movement, Shen Muyu frowned. Could it be that she was wrong, and the little girl meant that they would meet again when they picked up this humanoid creature?

Just as he finished thinking that, the scene suddenly changed. The little girl from before instantly appeared and lay on the windshield. Shen Muyu was so frightened by the sudden event that he pressed himself tightly against the car seat.

At this moment, only the whites of the girl's eyes remained; her originally round, bright eyes instantly transformed into eerie symbols.

Blood was dripping from her split cheek, flowing down the glass.

Shen Muyu narrowed his eyes, then jerked the steering wheel to the side, trying to use the momentum of the lane change to throw the girl off.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. The girl remained firmly clung to the car window, her smile seemingly mocking Shen Muyu.

Shen Muyu took a deep breath and shifted her gaze to the side. The girl's body was only blocking her view in front of her, but she could still see out from the side. She hadn't broken any rules, so she could just pretend the girl didn't exist for the time being.

As if seeing through Shen Muyu's intentions, the girl's smile widened, and then countless girls appeared, completely surrounding the car's windows.

Countless eyes, with only the whites of their pupils visible, were fixed on Shen Muyu inside the car. At that moment, Shen Muyu felt a tightness in her throat, and the fear made her unable to utter a sound.

The little black dog in my arms seemed to be frightened as well; it curled up and buried its head in the ground.
