Chapter 25 - The encounter

You and Mira travel the remaining two days without incident.

The road grows wider and busier the closer you get to the Azure Kingdom capital. Forests give way to rolling farmlands dotted with windmills, then to grand stone bridges and patrolled highways. Mira walks at your side the entire way, tail occasionally brushing your leg in secret affection. At night she sets up your private tent with her magic, seals it with a barrier, and offers herself to you again and again — riding you hard under the two moons until her breasts bounce wildly and she milks every drop deep inside her, whispering "my lord… fill your guardian" each time you cum.

During the day she carries the sack of frogs without complaint. The bandits-turned-amphibians croak miserably the whole trip.

On the morning of the third day, the capital finally appears on the horizon: a sprawling metropolis of white marble walls, towering spires, and the massive royal palace gleaming in the center like a crown. Flags of the Azure Kingdom flutter everywhere. The air hums with magic and the distant sound of crowds.

You reach the main eastern gate. Mira steps forward and hands the heavy sack to the city guards on duty.

"Eleven bandits ambushed our caravan on the road," she says calmly, Starfang resting at her hip. "Lord Grim dealt with them. They are currently frogs. Smash the sack once after you lock them in the dungeons — they will return to human form. Keep them as frogs for at least two days first… as a lesson."

The guards stare at the squirming, croaking sack, then at Mira's shining S-rank badge, then at you (still in plain merchant disguise). They salute sharply, clearly recognizing the famous Sword Mage who saved a Duke only days ago. "As you command, Lady Mira! The dungeons will hold them."

Merchant Harlan and his children step forward. Lily hugs Mira's leg tightly while Theo waves shyly at you. Harlan bows deeply, tears in his eyes.

"You two saved our lives and our cargo. The children will never forget this. Thank you… truly. If you ever need anything in the capital, the Harlan Trading House is yours." He presses an extra 20 gold into Mira's hand as a personal gift, then the family waves goodbye and heads toward the merchant district.

Mira returns to your side, tail curling happily around your wrist for a moment. "It is done exactly as you wished, my lord."

The two of you continue through the bustling streets and make your way straight to the capital branch of the Adventurers' Guild — a grand three-story building near the central plaza, far larger than the one in Willowbrook. The moment you step inside, the hall goes quiet for a heartbeat as eyes lock onto Mira's S-rank badge. Whispers ripple:

"That's her — the Sword Mage who soloed four A-rank wyverns!"

"Who's the guy with her? Some weak-looking merchant…"

You ignore them and walk to the quest counter. The receptionist recognizes the escort quest immediately, stamps it complete with a flourish, and slides a pouch of 50 gold across the counter (plus the extra 20 from Harlan).

"Quest cleared. Well done, Lady Mira." She barely glances at you. "And… uh, congratulations to your companion as well."

Mira takes the gold without fanfare and slips it into her pouch, then leans close to you so only you can hear:

"Reward claimed, my lord. We are officially in the capital now. The palace district — and whatever surprise you mentioned — is only a short walk from here."

The guild hall buzzes with life around you: high-rank adventurers planning raids, notice boards covered in urgent quests about the Dragon Dominion war, and scattered rumors about the five otherworldly heroes staying in the royal palace.

Your younger brother Lukas is somewhere in that palace right now — weak, B-rank, and treated like dirt by the other four heroes.

No one in the entire capital suspects the true Wish Djinn has just arrived
