Chapter 109: Talents Emerge from the Family
Ugh!
As soon as Gines entered the second Chamber of Secrets, he saw Aaron Gaius retching into a trash can.
Abey also tightly covered his eyes, his white wings trembling as if he had a nightmare.
"Young Master, you..."
"Don't speak." Aaron Gaius waved his hand with some difficulty, "Let me finish throwing up first, ugh..."
After a long while, Aaron Gaius finally adapted to the environment here. Standing steady, he looked at Gines with confusion, "The last Chamber of Secrets was for forging, but what about this one?
A morgue? An incinerator? Or a specimen room?"
"Uh..." Gines glanced at the various organ specimens displayed on the walls, and the several corpses placed in the center, his eyebrows slightly raised.
"This is my mistake. I should have prepared you mentally before you came in, Young Master."
"Don't change the subject. Honestly, what exactly is this place for?
Just tell me directly. It's a big world, and all sorts of people exist. I can accept that our family might produce an evil Dark Wizard."
"Is there a possibility that this might be an operating room?"
"Heh! Heh heh!" Aaron Gaius sneered, then picked up Abey, carefully removing the two Dragon claws that were covering its eyes.
"Are you kidding me?
An operating room would scare us like this? And..." Aaron Gaius pointed at several specimens, swallowing nervously, "Vampire teeth, a Dragon's skull, a Thunderbird's wings, and... that thing still beating at a very low frequency must be a Werewolf's heart, right!
I've been in the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Libraryfor more than a day or two. I recognize all these things. You don't need to try and deceive me."
"But this is indeed an operating room." Gines explained with a wry smile, "It's just a bit special.
The owner of this Chamber of Secrets was also exceptionally talented at the time, particularly fond of researching things, and had considerable achievements in this area.
Even now, the Magical World still enjoys the legacy he left behind."
Aaron Gaius was stunned for a moment, looking at some of the objects in the room, as if he understood something.
"There's a fine line between genius and madman. He probably offended all races back then!"
"Young Master, you've really misunderstood. On the contrary, your ancestor was a distinguished guest of all races at that time, and his influence was the highest among all previous family heads.
Family history records him as a Peace Ambassador. The relationship between the Bloodline and Werewolf races among Dark creatures is extremely poor; those with bad tempers would fight to the death upon meeting.
But he once prevented a great war between the Bloodline and Werewolf races, and even for a hundred years after his death, these two tribes lived in peace."
"What the heck?"
Aaron Gaius looked bewildered. If this ancestor was a notorious Dark Wizard, or a pervert who liked to research Forbidden Magic, he would find it perfectly reasonable. But a Peace Ambassador? Wasn't that an exaggerated overstatement?
"Then, how do you explain these specimens?"
"Some were voluntarily donated during their lifetime, some were bought from others, and some were sent here after being justly executed for their heinous crimes.
In short, the origin of every specimen here is reasonable and legal. Even if their descendants come looking for answers, we can provide a satisfactory explanation.
You know, one of the secrets to the enduring prosperity of a reclusive family is to not provoke trouble but also not to fear it."
Upon hearing this, Aaron Gaius's mouth twitched violently, and even the tension and fear in his heart lessened considerably.
"What exactly did this ancestor do?"
"A doctor, a doctor for all races." Gines explained proudly, "No matter what race, no one would offend a miracle doctor who can save lives."
Aaron Gaius nodded thoughtfully, reluctantly accepting this explanation.
A highly skilled doctor is respected everywhere. This might be slightly different in the Magical World, where strength is revered.
If it were an ordinary doctor, they wouldn't care, and might even try to control him, putting a magic wand to his neck in a critical situation, forcing him to save lives.
If it were a powerful doctor, they would show a certain degree of respect, because when life is truly on the line, whether one lives or dies depends on his mood.
But if they were truly pushed to the limit, they would fight back like cornered dogs. If you're not going to save their lives, then they naturally won't be polite.
However, if it were a powerful doctor who also possessed a strong background, then everyone would have only one choice: win him over, sparing no expense.
"Amazing! Truly amazing.
To be a doctor and reach this level is truly unique."
Gines was noncommittal, then made a gesture to invite, and a black stone pillar, identical to the one in the previous Chamber of Secrets, rose from the center of the floor.
Aaron Gaius rolled his eyes and placed his palm on it.
Green light rain began to fall within the Chamber of Secrets. After a few seconds, the light rain paused in mid-air, quickly gathering into a human figure.
As the light faded, a young man in his twenties, wearing a Wizard's robe, slowly walked over.
"Lord Moer." Gines bowed respectfully.
"Is this the heir of this generation?"
"Yes, Aaron Gaius, he has already crossed the threshold of twelve years old."
"Greetings, Ancestor." Aaron Gaius smiled, "First time meeting you, but I've heard your legends. My admiration for you is absolutely like a surging river, continuous and endless."
"Oh?" Moer stroked his chin, and his gaze towards Aaron Gaius became more playful, "Interesting."
Gollum!
Aaron Gaius's heart skipped a beat. That look, that tone, it felt so familiar!
"Little fellow, are you interested in learning medical skills from me?"
"I'm still young right now. Let's talk about it in a few years!" Aaron Gaius tactfully expressed his refusal.
"Hmm, I understand. It's a bit much to take in at twelve years old.
However..." Moer's words were cut short as he looked at Gines with a sharp gaze, "Tell Vico that his son will be my apprentice from now on."
"This..." Gines was startled for a moment, then stammered, "But Young Master's opinion..."
"His opinion isn't important, and I don't think he'll refuse.
Right, little fellow?"
Aaron Gaius nodded with a wry smile. What could he say? He couldn't say anything.
This ancestor had probably seen through his hidden strength. If he dared to say no, he could expose that secret in minutes.
"Very good, I like children who know how to adapt.
Excellent junior, one hour every day from now on, no problem, right?"
"No problem." Aaron Gaius said with a forced smile, "Absolutely no problem."
"Oh, right." Moer lowered his head and looked at Abey, his eyes full of interest, "Is this Dragon your pet?
I don't think I've ever seen this type of Dragon."
Aaron Gaius immediately hugged Abey tightly and explained, "I got it by chance. When luck comes, you can't stop it."
"Don't be nervous. Unless there's definite danger, us old folks won't interfere with the affairs of your generation.
These specimens are for research, but that doesn't mean I'm a pervert.
So, don't worry, I won't dissect it."
"I naturally trust Ancestor's character." Aaron Gaius said earnestly, but his grip on Abey tightened even more.
Moer raised an eyebrow, smiling without speaking, but he was even more satisfied with this heir in his heart.
He knows how to hide his abilities and has sufficient vigilance. Such a person will definitely live a long life.
"Gines, my course will not be included in his elective choices. Do you understand what I mean?"
"Understood, Lord Moer." Gines gave Aaron Gaius a particularly complex look, with both sympathy and relief.
The Young Master's vacation was shorter, but being actively taken as an apprentice by two ancestors was an extremely rare opportunity. A little hardship was worth it.
"Very good!" Moer waved his hand, and the next large door slowly opened, "Go, time is precious, do not waste it."
"Yes!"
Gines strode forward, looking particularly excited.
And Aaron Gaius, under Moer's gaze, like a defeated soldier, dragged his feet to the next Chamber of Secrets.
Creak!
As the large door closed, the third Chamber of Secretsappeared before the three of them.
Inside the Chamber of Secrets were all sorts of musical instruments: pianos, harpsichords, electronic keyboards, guitars, basses, violins, cellos, and so on, all readily available.
Modern, contemporary, and ancient types of musical instruments were all present here. Taking them out would definitely make for a grand event for musicians.
"Phew!"
Aaron Gaius breathed a long sigh of relief, feeling relieved. Finally, something relatively normal had arrived.
"Is this for learning music? Our family truly produces talented individuals generation after generation!"
"That is indeed an undeniable fact.
Gaius seems to have always been favored by fate; almost every generation has produced outstanding individuals.
It's not that there haven't been relatively mediocre ones, but even so, they could guarantee at least three generations of glory within a Pure-blood family." Gines explained proudly, "Young Master, I wonder if you're interested in this course?"
"So-so!
Music, compared to blacksmithing and dissection, is simply art."
"Then you are interested." Gines pointed to the slowly rising black stone pillar, his meaning self-evident.
