Chapter 78 - Unnamed

Chapter 78: The Felixir Can Also Be Used on Bottles

"Professor, I was young and ignorant just now." Aaronsincerely handed a cup of tea to Snape, "Please calm down first."

Snape raised an eyebrow, then took the hot tea, quite pleased with Aaron's gesture.

What is respect for teachers? This is it!

"Then, Professor, can you teach me how to make Felix Felicis this time?"

Pfft!

Snape couldn't help but spray out the half-drunk tea. Aaron, however, seemed to have anticipated this scene. After handing over the tea, he took a small step to the right, perfectly avoiding it.

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible." Snape said with a serious face, "You've just learned to walk and you want to run. No, this can't even be described as running.

You haven't even learned to run, and you want to fly.

You'd best give up on that idea and learn to run first!"

"Past life experience tells me that without greed, nothing can be accomplished." Aaron said righteously, "Besides, I'm a Slytherin, isn't it normal to have such thoughts?"

"But the leap is too big. Do you know how difficult it is to brew a bottle of Felix Felicis?

Even I can't guarantee 100% success, and your current success rate is less than 10%."

"What about with your guidance?" Aaron asked, unwilling to give up.

Having tasted the sweetness of Felix Felicis, his desire for this Potion had increased by several levels.

Buy it? It's priceless, almost no one in the Magical Worldwould sell such a treasure.

Ask his family for it? There were a few bottles in the treasury, but he couldn't bring himself to ask.

Then he could only try to brew it himself. Teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish; only by learning it does it truly become his own.

"Sometimes I really want to dig out your heart and see if it's really that big."

Aaron immediately took a step back, "Don't mess around!"

"Hmph! If I brewed it alone, there would still be a chance of success, but with you, the success rate will probably be less than 50%.

Your talent is good, but you've had too little practical experience."

"Is it that low?"

"If only it were just low." Snape said, speechless, "The ingredients for Felix Felicis are very rare, even I haven't gathered them all."

"What ingredients are needed? I'll find a way."

Snape looked at him deeply, then listed the ingredients he needed: Unicorn horn, newt eggs, volcanic snake bird eggshells... Aaron listened and wrote down these ingredients with pen and paper.

Half a minute later, he looked at the dense list in his hand, and a few black lines appeared on his forehead.

"How does it feel?" Snape asked playfully, "Still full of confidence, I presume?"

Aaron pondered for a few seconds, "Getting these ingredients shouldn't be a problem, but..."

After hearing the first half of the sentence, Snape also became a bit unsettled.

He had also wanted to brew a bottle of Felix Felicis for emergencies over the years, because he was the kind of person who danced on a tightrope.

It wasn't obvious now, but in the future, there would always be the danger of being shattered.

Different identities meant that the role of luck would also be different.

For ordinary people, good luck was just that, enough to keep them in a good mood for a day.

But for him, it was different; at critical moments, it might even change his destiny.

"Can you really get these ingredients?"

"Yes, just not much.

There are at least three sets in my family's warehouse. Before, I didn't know why these things were stored together, but now it seems they are the ingredients for brewing Felix Felicis."

Snape's mouth twitched; big families were indeed impressive.

But this was a bit too much! Some Pure-blood families might not even have one complete set of ingredients.

"If there are ingredients, it's not impossible for me to brew Felix Felicis.

As long as it's successful, just give me a little bit of compensation.

Not much, just one-tenth will do."

Whether it was an illusion or not, Aaron actually felt a hint of eagerness in Snape's voice.

After a moment of thought, he shook his head, "Professor, I'm afraid that won't work."

"Then cut it in half again, one-twentieth should be fine, right!"

"Uh... Professor, you misunderstood.

If it's the finished product, my family still has several large bottles in stock, enough to drink for a day if I chugged them."

Clang!

Snape slid off his chair, not caring how disheveled he looked, "Do you know what you're saying?

I admit that the Magical World doesn't lack people who can brew this Potion, and some people do have some stock.

But chugging it from the bottle, that's an enormous joke."

"I also think it's a bit exaggerated, but that's the truth." Aaronspread his hands, "However, my father said that those luck Potions should only be used when needed."

"Let's not talk about that. Let's discuss the ingredients first." Snape pulled the conversation back, patted the dust off his robes, and sat back in his chair, forcefully asserting his professorial dignity.

"It's like this, what I want isn't the finished product, but the ability to brew Felix Felicis.

However, my error tolerance is only three times, and according to you, Professor, even with your guidance, my current success rate is less than 50%, so it's better to postpone it for a while.

At least wait until the success rate is above 99% before I attempt to brew it!"

Snape:... Is this 'while' a bit too abstract?

He might be able to accept a year or so, and he could persist for three to five years, but if it were any longer, he would have to give up this path, as he might not have that much time.

"Ahem! Don't be discouraged. Actually, with your talent, you can definitely make your first attempt within three years."

"Three years?" Aaron was stunned for a moment, "I thought it would be one year?"

"O-one year?" Snape said, torn between laughter and tears, "Aaron, I still underestimated your ambition.

But one shouldn't get too carried away. Brewing Felix Felicisrequires at least half a year, and there can be no mistakes during the process, especially in some critical steps, so..."

Before Snape could finish, Aaron directly placed a small bottle on the table, "With this, I should be able to skip the so-called critical steps, right!"

"This is..." Snape's eyes widened after just one second, "Felix Felicis, where did you get it?"

"That's not important, in short, it wasn't bought."

"Of course I know it wasn't bought.

What I want to ask is, can you sell it to me? The price is negotiable."

Whoosh!

Aaron immediately put the Felix Felicis on the table away without a word.

Don't even think about it. This item was not for sale, especially now.

There was still a Dark Lord lurking in the school, and he no longer had his life-saving secret Potion. He absolutely could not give up on luck.

Seeing this, a hint of disappointment flashed in Snape's eyes.

"Professor, you're a Potions Master, don't you have any stock left for yourself?" Aaron asked.

"It was used up a long time ago, all at once.

The effect was very good, but the result was very bad." Snapesaid sadly, "To be honest, I don't really like using Felix Felicis, because leaving everything to luck is clearly unreliable.

But I have a feeling that I will desperately need luck in the coming period.

Let's not talk about that. Don't even think about Felix Felicis; it's not something you can control right now.

Something simpler is better, because you don't have much time."

"How about a Calming Draught then?" Aaron chuckled.

"You can go find Madam Pomfrey." Snape said meaningfully, "She should have some stock there."

"That's not the same. My things are mine, and the doctor's things are the doctor's."

Snape nodded silently, placed his cauldron on the stand, and once again began to teach this student, of whom he was proud, how to brew a perfect Potion.

A few hours later, Snape handed Aaron a bottle of Calming Draught, but Aaron politely refused it, "It was agreed, the finished product is yours."

"Take it! This is a teacher's reward for a student." Snape said, "And it also serves as a reminder that your current skill level is just so-so; this Potion hasn't reached its optimal quality."

Aaron gave an embarrassed laugh, "After all, it's my first time brewing it. I'm already quite satisfied that I succeeded."

"If you think that way, the time for you to brew Felix Feliciswill have to be postponed." Snape sneered.

"That's not necessarily true."

Aaron was full of confidence. As someone who had a cheat, it would be too much of a failure if he couldn't even create a little miracle.

"Oh, and Professor." Before leaving the office, Aaronsuddenly remembered something, turned around and asked, "Professor Dumbledore is still at school, right?"

"I thought you'd forgotten?

Is it interesting to ask every day?"

"No choice, mainly due to a lack of security."

Snape rolled his eyes, "Well, you asked just in time. The Ministry of Magic sent word that he has an urgent matter to deal with.

He left this morning, and it's already been several hours. He won't be back until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest."

Phew!

Hearing this news, Aaron let out a long breath, not showing any signs of panic, merely rubbing his forehead.

A storm was brewing! But what was bound to come would come eventually.
