Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Unnoticed Changes

The third day at Crestwood Elite Academy began like any other—polished floors, confident footsteps, and conversations that carried both pride and competition.

But for Aaryan Raizada…

Things were already starting to change.

Not on the surface.

But underneath.

As he entered the campus, the whispers were louder than before.

"That's him…"

"The new transfer…"

"He barely talks, but still…"

Aaryan ignored all of it, walking with the same calm pace as always. His expression didn't change, but his eyes moved—observing, analyzing.

He had already started understanding the patterns.

Who led the conversations.

Who followed.

Who pretended.

And who stayed real.

Inside the classroom, something was… different.

Before he could even sit down—

"Good morning, mysterious guy."

Tara waved at him from across the room.

Aaryan paused for a second.

Then nodded slightly. "Good morning."

"Wow," Rhea said from beside her, pretending to be shocked. "He actually greeted back today."

"I always do," Aaryan replied calmly as he took his seat.

"Not really," Tara smirked. "You just nod like some serious CEO."

Aaryan leaned back slightly. "Maybe I am one."

Tara blinked.

Then laughed. "Confidence level = dangerous."

Rhea smiled faintly. "Or maybe he's just good at pretending."

Aaryan didn't deny it.

He simply smiled.

From the window seat—

Siya Kapoor watched the exchange.

Not directly.

Just… occasionally.

Tara seemed unusually comfortable with him now.

Rhea too.

Even their tone had changed.

More casual. More natural.

Siya tapped her pen lightly against her notebook.

"…It's only been two days."

She looked away.

But a small thought lingered.

The class began, but attention wasn't entirely on the lecture.

At least—not for everyone.

Tara kept passing small notes toward Aaryan.

He ignored the first one.

Then the second.

By the third, he picked it up.

"You always this boring in class?"

Aaryan glanced at her.

She grinned.

He wrote back calmly.

"You always this distracting?"

Tara read it—and immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud.

Rhea leaned over. "What did he write?"

Tara shook her head. "Nothing. He's just… fun."

Rhea raised an eyebrow.

"Didn't expect that."

Across the room—

Siya's pen stopped moving for a moment.

She didn't turn.

Didn't look.

But she heard Tara's suppressed laughter.

And for some reason—

It felt… distracting.

She exhaled softly and focused back on her notebook.

"Why is the class so noisy today…"

After class, the corridor filled with movement.

Students walked in groups, voices overlapping.

Aaryan stepped out quietly.

But this time—

He wasn't alone for long.

"Wait."

Rhea caught up with him.

"You heading to the library?"

Aaryan looked at her. "No."

"Oh," she said, slightly surprised. "You look like the type."

"And you look like the type who talks a lot," he replied.

Rhea paused.

Then smiled.

"Fair enough."

They walked side by side for a few seconds.

Comfortable silence.

Then—

"You're different, you know," she said.

"I've heard that."

"No, I mean it," she continued. "Most people here try too hard. You don't."

Aaryan glanced at her.

"And that bothers you?"

Rhea shook her head.

"It makes me curious."

Aaryan didn't respond immediately.

Then calmly said—

"Curiosity isn't always a good thing."

Rhea smiled slightly.

"I'll take my chances."

At the same time—

Anika stood near the staircase, holding her notebook.

She saw them.

Aaryan and Rhea.

Walking together.

Talking.

She hesitated for a moment.

Then quietly stepped back.

"…I'll talk to him later."

Not far away—

Siya walked with her friends.

But her steps slowed slightly.

Just a little.

Her eyes shifted—

For a second—

Toward the same direction.

Aaryan.

Rhea.

Walking together.

Talking like it was normal.

Her expression didn't change.

But her grip on her notebook tightened just a bit.

"…He talks a lot for someone who acts quiet."

The thought came unexpectedly.

She frowned slightly.

Then looked away.

Later that day, during break—

The classroom was half empty.

Aaryan sat at his desk, flipping through a book.

Peaceful.

Until—

"You're always reading or thinking."

He looked up.

Kiara stood there.

Her expression calm, as always.

"And you're always observing," Aaryan replied.

Kiara didn't deny it.

She took the seat in front of him.

"Tell me something."

Aaryan closed the book slightly.

"What?"

"You act like you don't care about anything here," she said. "But you notice everything."

Aaryan's gaze met hers.

"Observation doesn't require interest."

Kiara tilted her head.

"Then why do it?"

Aaryan paused for a moment.

Then said—

"Because understanding people… is useful."

Kiara smiled faintly.

"You're not normal."

"So I've been told."

The final bell rang.

Another day ended.

But something had shifted.

Not loudly.

Not obviously.

But subtly.

As Aaryan walked toward the gate, he could feel it.

More eyes following him.

More attention.

More… interest.

From the stairs—

Siya stood still for a moment.

Watching.

Not intentionally.

Just… briefly.

Aaryan walked past without looking back.

Calm as always.

Unbothered.

And somehow—

That bothered her more than it should have.

"…Why does he act like nothing matters?"

She looked away immediately.

Shaking the thought off.

"It doesn't matter."

And yet…

For a brief moment—

Her eyes followed him.

At the gate, Aaryan stopped.

His car hadn't arrived yet.

For the first time—

He waited.

Silently.

Observing.

Thinking.

"Things are moving faster than expected…"

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Interesting."

Behind him—

Unnoticed—

Several eyes were still on him.

Curious.

Confused.

Drawn.

And slowly…

Without anyone realizing—

The distance between him and them…

Was starting to disappear.
