At this moment, Madeline heard a man's voice. She lifted her eyes and locked eyes with Whiptail who also had his eyes widened.
"Koi" they both mouthed to each other.
Whiptail quickly shook his head to reassure her that wasn't who she thought it was.
There is no way "Koi" would be here!.
Before they could recover from the shock, Madeline heard a man's pleading voice after.
Although, the voice was a bit distant, her hearing had always been incredibly good and sharp so she could still hear clearly what was being said over there regardless of the distance.
Whiptail also heard a voice. One which he recognised immediately. It was Seb's adoptive father's voice.
He quickly signalled to Madeline but she couldn't understand what he was trying to say so he picked up a little branch and wrote Dad on the ground.
She nodded and quickly focused on their discussion.
