Chapter 494 – A Game Can Be Sad Too
Cassius and Mallory were now facing each other, sitting on a patch of green grass, the wind whispering around them in a gentle, soothing manner.
Their eyes were locked on one another, and Cassius noticed the small, excited smile creeping at the edge of his master's lips. A smile that made him wonder, for the nth time already,
"What kind of game are we playing, master?" he asked.
"I never knew its name," the Dean replied. "But since I am playing it again after… so many years, and with you, maybe we can decide on its name together. After we have played, though, so that you know what it is about."
The Last Born arched a curious eyebrow. "Is there any catch? I mean, what if I lose, or you lose?"
"Nothing like that." Mallory shook her head, her long silver hair, braided into one big knot, swaying gently with the motion. "This is just a game, Cassius. There is nothing to lose or gain except the game itself. There is no bet."
