Chapter 10 - Episode 10: “The Night He Broke His Own Rules”

📖 That night, the mansion didn't sleep.

It waited.

Like it already knew something was about to break.

Aanya Verma sat in her room, unable to close her eyes.

Rudra's words kept repeating in her mind.

"You are not just a servant… you never were."

Outside, thunder rolled across the sky.

And with it… came footsteps.

Slow.

Controlled.

Familiar.

Knock.

Only once.

But it was enough.

Aanya opened the door slowly.

And froze.

Rudra Rathore stood there.

Soaked slightly from rain.

Black shirt half unbuttoned.

Eyes darker than the night behind him.

For a second… neither spoke.

Then Rudra said quietly,

"Come outside."

Aanya hesitated.

"This… this is not appropriate, sir—"

"Stop calling me that."

His voice cut through the rain noise.

Silence.

Aanya stepped out.

The corridor was empty.

The mansion felt like it was holding its breath.

Rudra walked ahead.

Aanya followed.

Until they reached the terrace.

Rain hit them immediately.

Cold. Sharp. Real.

Aanya shivered.

Rudra noticed.

But didn't say anything.

Instead… he removed his coat.

And placed it over her shoulders.

Aanya froze.

"This… I can't—"

"You can."

His voice was calm.

But firm.

Silence again.

Only rain now.

Aanya finally whispered,

"Why did you bring me here?"

Rudra turned toward her.

And this time…

there was no gangster mask.

No control games.

Just him.

"Because I am tired of pretending," he said.

Aanya's breath caught.

"What… pretending what?"

Rudra stepped closer.

Rain dripping from his face.

Eyes locked on hers.

"That you are just a servant."

A pause.

"And I am just your boss."

Aanya's heart started beating faster.

Rudra continued quietly,

"You entered my house as nothing…"

His voice lowered.

"But now… you are the only thing I notice when I walk into it."

Aanya stepped back slightly.

Shocked.

Confused.

Overwhelmed.

"This is wrong…" she whispered.

Rudra shook his head.

"No."

Another step closer.

"Running from it is wrong."

Thunder cracked loudly.

Aanya flinched.

But Rudra didn't move away.

Instead, he said something that changed everything.

"I don't care about society."

A pause.

"I never did."

His eyes softened slightly.

"But I care… when you look at me like I am dangerous."

Aanya froze.

Because he was dangerous.

But not in the way she thought anymore.

Rudra lifted his hand slowly… then stopped.

As if fighting himself.

For the first time.

"I should stop," he said quietly.

A pause.

"But I don't want to."

Silence shattered everything.

Aanya looked at him.

Truly looked.

And saw something terrifying…

Not a gangster.

Not a ruthless man.

But a man losing control of himself.

And before she could step away—

Riya's voice echoed from behind.

Clap. Clap. Slow.

Mocking.

"Beautiful," she said.

Standing at the terrace door.

Smiling.

Eyes burning.

Rudra didn't turn.

But his jaw tightened.

Riya looked at Aanya.

Then at Rudra.

And whispered softly,

"So it has already begun."
