Chapter 1 - BODY SWAP DINNER

Five friends sat around a dimly lit dining table, laughing over burnt noodles and fizzy drinks. Riya had found an old brass coin at a roadside shop and claimed it was "magical."

"Make a wish before dinner," she said dramatically, placing the coin in the center.

Arjun rolled his eyes. "Fine. I wish I could see the world through someone else's eyes."

"Same," said Mehul. "Exams would be easier if I could just become the topper for a day."

They all laughed and, one by one, touched the coin, making ridiculous wishes.

Then the lights flickered.

"Power cut?" Nisha asked.

But the fan was still spinning.

A cold breeze moved through the room—impossible, because the windows were closed.

And then everything went black.

Riya woke up first.

But something was wrong.

Her hands looked bigger. Her voice—when she gasped—wasn't hers.

"Why do I sound like Arjun?!"

Across the table, Arjun stared down at himself—except it wasn't himself.

"I'm… Riya?!"

One by one, panic erupted.

They had swapped bodies.

Mehul was now Nisha. Nisha was in Kabir's body. Kabir was in Mehul's.

"No way. This is a prank," Kabir said—except it came out in Mehul's voice.

Riya (in Arjun's body) grabbed the coin. "Okay, joke's over. Change us back!"

Nothing happened.

At first, it was chaos.

Everyone kept bumping into things. Walking felt strange. Even speaking felt weird in a different voice.

But then something unexpected happened.

They started noticing things.

Arjun (in Riya's body) realized how much effort she put into everything—her neat handwriting, her careful planning.

Riya (in Arjun's body) felt how pressured he was, constantly expected to "figure everything out."

Mehul, now in Nisha's body, experienced how often people interrupted her—even his own past self.

And Nisha, in Kabir's body, saw how he hid his worries behind jokes.

Dinner, once loud and silly, turned quiet.

They weren't just in different bodies.

They were in each other's lives.

Hours passed.

Finally, Riya whispered, "Maybe… it wasn't just a random wish."

They all looked at the coin again.

"Maybe it wanted us to understand each other," Nisha said softly.

There was a pause.

Then Arjun nodded. "Okay… then let's say it properly."

One by one, they placed their hands on the coin again.

"I wish I understood my friends better."

"I wish I listened more."

"I wish I didn't judge so quickly."

"I wish I was kinder."

"I wish I saw what others go through."

The room fell silent.

The lights flickered again.

Darkness.

When they woke up…

Everything was back to normal.

Same bodies. Same table. Same half-eaten dinner.

No one spoke for a moment.

Then Kabir broke the silence. "So… we're just not going to talk about that?"

They all burst out laughing.

But something had changed.

The jokes were softer.

The listening was deeper.

And for the first time, dinner felt different—not because of the food…

…but because they finally understood each other.
