The air was heavy with silence.
Una stood at the edge of the path, the one that split the forest into two narrow trails. The golden sun was dipping low, painting the leaves with fire. She could feel it in her chest—the weight of everything unsaid, everything misunderstood.
Ayaan was already there, a few steps ahead, looking back at her only once. His expression was unreadable, but she could see the conflict in his eyes—the part of him that wanted to run back, and the part that couldn't.
Behind them, the others had gathered. Leo, Clara, Ethan, Maya, Sophie, Alex, Helena, Daniel, Noah, and Lucas—all of them had tried in their own ways to fix what had started to unravel. But some things couldn't be fixed with laughter, with words, or even with time.
"Una…" Ayaan began, his voice low, almost breaking.
She shook her head before he could say more. "No, Ayaan. There's nothing left to say. I… I thought I understood you. But I guess I didn't."
His jaw tightened. "I thought you… I thought we…"
But the words died on his lips. Because neither of them could bridge the gap that had formed.
Alex lingered nearby, quietly watching, while Helena gave him a small, knowing glance. Leo and Clara exchanged worried looks. They all knew what was happening, but none could stop it.
Una stepped onto the left path. Ayaan turned to take the right.
For a moment, they walked in sync, shoulder to shoulder, pretending the distance didn't exist.
And then… the path split.
She glanced back, and he did the same. Their eyes met one last time, filled with a mixture of longing, regret, and unspoken words.
And then the forest swallowed them.
They walked away from each other, each believing the other chose it. Each carrying the burden of a misunderstanding that had grown too big, too fast.
No calls. No running back. Just two paths, two hearts, and a quiet ache that would never fully fade.
Sometimes, love isn't enough.
Sometimes, the power of misunderstanding is stronger then you think .
I don't make this for fun , I just wanna show the power that misunderstanding holds .
