Chapter 163 - The Spatial Rift

At this moment, though Boyang's conjecture had not yet been proven, all the signs suggested that it was the most likely explanation—the closest to the truth. So before more monsters could appear and the Chasm could fall completely, they had to act. They had to prevent that terrible outcome.

When the Millelith commander made his decision, Boyang, Rongzhao, and the other Millelith officers all voiced their agreement.

"Millelith—"

"Swear to defend Liyue with our lives—"

"The counterattack begins—"

"Charge into the monsters' lair—"

At that moment, every Millelith soldier began to shout. Their morale was sky‑high. Though the order seemed sudden, it was not an impulsive decision by the commander. In truth, the idea of a counterattack had been germinating in the minds of the Millelith officers long before Boyang and Bosacius arrived. Only then had they lacked sufficient strength and justification.

Now, with the help of Bosacius, Boyang, and the others, every Millelith soldier was filled with confidence. It was as if victory in this battle to resist the monsters was already within reach.

After the commander gave the order, the Millelith spent a short time preparing. They checked their weapons, gathered provisions, worked out the specifics of the plan, and moved the seriously wounded to safe positions.

When all the preparations were complete, at the commander's signal, every Millelith soldier, the nameless yaksha, Boyang, and the other shamans set out on the counterattack.

As before, when they resumed their advance, the amnesiac Bosacius once again took the lead. After slaying several hundred monsters, the fighting spirit he had lost from his memories began to return. He even began to crave battle. He had a feeling that if he kept fighting, he might recover his lost memories.

So when more monsters appeared ahead, Bosacius summoned vast amounts of Electro energy from within his body. It formed several lightning‑wreathed phantoms that charged into the midst of the monsters. Hiding within the lightning, they struck down their foes with single, lethal blows.

Watching this, not only Boyang and Rongzhao but even the Millelith officers and the commander were awestruck. Such power. Even with his memories gone and his strength diminished, he was still this formidable. If he regained his memories, he would be like a god of slaughter descending upon the world. Who could stand against him?

The Millelith officers murmured among themselves. "I once had the privilege of witnessing the Conqueror of Demons, Xiao, in battle. I have never forgotten it. This Brother Yaksha reminds me of him. He is just as powerful. Just as terrifying."

Indeed, when watching a foremost yaksha fight, not only do enemies feel fear, but even their comrades tremble before their overwhelming killing intent and ferocity.

"Could it be that this Brother Yaksha is also one of the foremost yakshas?"

"I doubt it. If he were, he would be fighting alongside Rex Lapis, not wandering alone to the Chasm."

Their reasoning was sound, but their conclusion was completely wrong. They could never have imagined that the one fighting beside them was none other than Bosacius, the foremost yaksha under Rex Lapis and the most powerful yaksha who had ever lived.

Because the yaksha had just annihilated the monsters with the Millelith's help, the counterattack started smoothly. Only small groups of monsters appeared at first.

But as they drew closer to the mine vein crack where the monsters were emerging, they faced more and more monsters, each wave stronger than the last. Every Millelith soldier joined the fight. Even Bosacius, wielding his lightning abilities, found himself struggling once more.

Seeing Bosacius's power, the Millelith commander raised a spear and hurled it toward him. "Brother Yaksha, catch! This is the Spear of Comradeship. It has been by my side for many years. Use it to slay our enemies!"

The spear arced through the air and landed precisely in Bosacius's hand. He did not hesitate, wielding it against the monsters without pause. With the Spear of Comradeship, his combat power soared. Every monster in his path was reduced to fragments. None could withstand a single blow.

But then, as he swept the spear forward again, a powerful monster blocked his strike. Bosacius frowned. He raised the spear once more and drove it straight through the creature, killing it in one blow.

After this, he held the spear up to his eyes, seemingly satisfied with the weapon. Moreover, as he used it to slay monster after monster, memories of past battles began to surface in his mind. One spear was no longer enough.

He raised a hand. Under the attraction of his Electro power, the fallen spears on the ground rose into the air and flew into his grasp. With four arms, he now wielded four bloodstained spears. Radiating boundless killing intent, he charged down into the mine vein crack from which the monsters were emerging.

With four spears in hand, Bosacius fought with terrifying ferocity, like a human meat grinder, cutting every monster in his path into pieces.

Even the elite Millelith soldiers were deeply shaken. They could not imagine fighting in such a way.

Seeing Bosacius slay a great many monsters and charge alone into the crack, the Millelith soldiers shouted after him:

"Brother Yaksha, do not be reckless—"

"The monsters' lair is dangerous—"

"All Millelith, follow him—"

"Charge!"

Every Millelith soldier followed in Bosacius's footsteps and entered the crack. The moment they stepped inside, nearly everyone felt an evil presence and the thick, choking miasma of monsters. This scene only confirmed Boyang's conjecture.

At the end of this underground mine, there must be a spatial rift—a gateway to the source of the monster calamity, to the fallen nation of Khaenri'ah. Otherwise, there would not be so much miasma here, nor an endless stream of monsters.

Boyang, holding the Taisui Compass, exchanged a glance with Rongzhao. Then they followed the Millelith's advance. Their only hope now was the shaman Boyang and the Taisui Compass in his hands. Only that artifact could seal the torn spatial rift.
