Vael's POV
The drive home from the Academy was heavy with silence.
Lirien sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window, his hands clasped tightly in his lap. I could smell the conflict rolling off him,a mix of guilt, confusion, and that faint, sweet edge of arousal that Davis's words had clearly stirred in him. My own emotions were a storm inside me: possessiveness, jealousy, love, and something darker I didn't want to name.
I had agreed to Davis's proposal.
Not because I wanted to share Lirien.
But because I knew him.
I had seen the way his body reacted when Davis spoke to him at the gala. I had smelled the shift in his scent. I knew Lirien had fantasies, kinky, intense ones, that he had only begun to explore with me. And I knew that deep down, part of him was curious about what Davis had offered.
I didn't want to hold him back.
