Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: when blood meets blood

The village had never felt so quiet.

Morning had fully broken now.

Children played in the distance.

Women moved about with their daily routines.

Men gathered, laughing, unaware of the storm approaching.

Everything looked… normal.

But beneath that normalcy—

Death was walking closer.

Hidden among trees just beyond the village border, the six hunters watched silently.

Their eyes were sharp.

Their senses alert.

"There," one of them whispered, pointing subtly.

Fiyin stepped out of her house slowly.

She looked… different.

Not physically.

Not yet.

But her presence had changed.

There was something about her now—something that made the air around her feel… aware.

"That's her," another hunter confirmed.

A pause.

"She doesn't look like much."

The leader smirked faintly.

"Power rarely does… until it's too late."

He stepped forward.

"Take her."

And just like that—

They moved.

Fast.

Silent.

Deadly.

Back in the village—

Fiyin froze mid-step.

Her heart skipped.

Her body reacted before her mind could understand why.

Danger.

Her eyes darted around.

"…someone's here…"

A shadow moved behind her.

Too fast.

A hand grabbed her arm.

She gasped.

"Come quietly," a cold voice whispered in her ear.

"No—!"

She struggled instantly.

But his grip tightened.

"You're coming with us."

Before she could scream—

A force slammed into the man.

Hard.

Violent.

Unstoppable.

The impact sent him flying across the ground, crashing into a nearby wall with bone-breaking force.

Silence.

Everyone froze.

Fiyin turned.

And her breath caught.

He stood there.

Tall.

Still.

Covered in dust and blood.

Emmanuel.

Their eyes met.

Time stopped.

For a moment—

Nothing else existed.

Not the hunters.

Not the village.

Not the danger.

Just them.

Fiyin's lips parted slightly.

"…Emmanuel…"

The way she said his name—

Soft.

Certain.

It hit him deeper than anything ever had.

His chest tightened.

"…Fiyin…"

The bond snapped into place.

Fully.

Powerfully.

Irreversibly.

A sudden wave of energy pulsed through both of them.

Fiyin staggered slightly.

Emmanuel took a step forward instinctively.

"Don't move," one of the hunters growled.

Too late.

Emmanuel's expression changed.

The softness vanished.

Replaced by something darker.

More dangerous.

His eyes shifted—

From human…

To glowing crimson.

"You touched her."

His voice was low.

Deadly.

The hunters stiffened.

"…so it's true," one muttered. "He came."

The leader stepped forward, brushing dust off his clothes calmly.

"Well, well…" he said, studying Emmanuel carefully.

"The Alpha of Alphas."

A pause.

"You're even more… unstable than the reports said."

Emmanuel didn't respond.

His focus was locked on one thing.

Fiyin.

"Are you hurt?" he asked quietly.

Fiyin shook her head slowly, still trying to process everything.

"I… I don't know what's happening…"

Her voice trembled slightly.

"But I know… it's you."

That was enough.

More than enough.

Emmanuel turned slowly.

And faced the hunters.

The air shifted instantly.

"You came for her," he said.

Not a question.

A statement.

The leader smiled faintly.

"She's valuable."

A pause.

"And you're dangerous."

His eyes gleamed.

"So we decided to solve both problems at once."

Silence.

Then—

Emmanuel took a step forward.

The ground cracked beneath his foot.

"Wrong move."

The hunters attacked.

All at once.

Speed.

Precision.

Coordination.

But they had made one fatal mistake.

They underestimated him.

Emmanuel moved like a storm unleashed.

The first attacker lunged—

Gone.

A blur of motion—

And his body hit the ground lifeless.

The second came from the side—

Crushed.

Bones shattered under Emmanuel's grip.

The third and fourth attacked together—

It didn't matter.

Emmanuel didn't fight like a man.

He fought like something born for war.

Every strike was brutal.

Every movement final.

Fiyin watched in shock.

Her heart pounded.

Her body trembled.

But not from fear alone.

There was something else.

Something awakening inside her.

A pull toward him.

Even like this.

Even covered in blood.

Even as he destroyed everything in front of him—

She couldn't look away.

"He's…" she whispered.

Dangerous.

Terrifying.

But somehow—

Still hers.

The last two hunters stepped back.

Fear finally breaking through their discipline.

"This isn't normal…" one muttered.

The leader raised his hand.

"Enough."

Silence fell.

Emmanuel stood still.

Breathing heavily.

The ground around him painted red.

The leader studied him carefully.

"…you're still holding back," he said.

A pause.

"Interesting."

Emmanuel's eyes darkened.

"Leave."

The word was simple.

But it carried weight.

The leader smiled slightly.

"No."

A sudden shift—

His body began to transform.

Bones cracking.

Muscles expanding.

A massive wolf emerged.

Larger than the others.

Stronger.

An Alpha.

Fiyin's breath hitched.

"…there's more like him…?"

Emmanuel didn't move.

But something inside him…

Responded.

This time—

He didn't resist it.

At all.

The transformation was instant.

Violent.

Terrifying.

And when it was complete—

Even the Alpha froze.

"…what… the hell…"

Because what stood before him…

Was not just power.

It was dominance itself.

Crimson eyes burned like fire.

Dark fur absorbed the light around it.

An aura that demanded submission.

Even without words—

It was clear.

This was not a wolf you challenged.

This was a wolf you bowed to.

The Alpha growled.

But there was hesitation now.

"…this isn't over," he said.

Then—

He retreated.

Fast.

Vanishing into the forest.

Silence returned.

Once again.

Emmanuel stood still for a moment.

Then slowly—

He turned.

Back into his human form.

His eyes softened.

And once again—

They met hers.

Fiyin swallowed.

"You…" she whispered.

"What are you?"

Emmanuel walked toward her slowly.

Carefully.

Like approaching something fragile.

"I don't fully know yet," he said.

A pause.

"But I know one thing."

He stopped in front of her.

His voice dropped slightly.

"You're not safe here."

Fiyin's heart raced.

"…and with you?"

A dangerous question.

Emmanuel held her gaze.

Honest.

Unfiltered.

"No."

A beat.

"Not with me either."

Silence.

But neither of them stepped away.

Because despite everything—

The bond between them had already gone too deep.

And neither of them could escape it now.

To be continued…
