Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: Shadows of the Past

Aanya sat in the dimly lit room, staring at the walls of Rey's mansion. Every corner seemed alive with secrets—hidden cameras, locked cabinets, weapons neatly arranged. It was intimidating, but somehow, she felt… safe. Only slightly.

Rey stood near the window, his silhouette sharp and dangerous. He didn't speak at first. When he finally did, his voice was quiet but commanding.

"You think you know who I am," he said, "but you don't even know the half of it."

Aanya bristled. "Then tell me. Tell me everything, or stay out of my life."

He smirked faintly, a dangerous curve of his lips. "I can't. Not yet. Some truths are more dangerous than bullets."

Her chest tightened. Something about the way he said it made her pulse race. She hated him. She didn't trust him. And yet… she wanted to know more.

The night stretched on, shadows creeping across the room. Somewhere in the city, danger was waiting. And Aanya realized with a sinking feeling: she wasn't just caught in the chaos of her father's death—she was now entwined in Rey's dangerous world, whether she wanted to be or not.

And she had no choice but to follow.
