Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Empire of the Stars

God Rock Sovereign

Chapter 16: The Void Sovereign Descends

The stars above Crimson Nebula World had never looked more ominous.

I stood on the highest floating island of our new palace, spirit sword drawn, God Rock pulsing like a second heart in my Spatial Storage Ring. Li Qing was safely inside the reinforced inner sanctum with Xingchen and Qinglan, protected by the strongest arrays I had ever crafted. I had spent the last week turning every bracelet request into raw materials and techniques — Star Dao fragments, void ores, nebula sword manuals — and the God Rock had devoured them all. My cultivation sat firmly at mid-Core Formation, and my fused techniques had grown terrifying.

But Void Sovereign Hei Ming had finally come.

The sky tore open like black silk. A colossal vortex of pure void energy swallowed the light of three nearby suns. Hei Ming emerged alone, mid-stage Void Shattering Realm, his black robes billowing as if the universe itself feared him. Behind him, a legion of void puppets — faceless warriors at peak Nascent Soul — poured through the rift like a tide of darkness.

"So this is your little kingdom," Hei Ming's voice echoed across the entire planet, cold and mocking. "A pretty cage built with trinkets you gave away to insects. The God Rock belongs to one who can wield the 3000 Grand Daos properly. Hand it over, boy, and I will let your wife and spawn live as my slaves."

I raised my sword, lightning and spatial ripples dancing along the blade. "You talk too much for someone who is about to die."

He laughed and pointed one finger.

The void puppets charged — hundreds of them, each wielding black energy blades that could slice through mountains.

I moved first.

Space folded around me as I blinked into their midst. The God Rock fed me their techniques instantly. I copied the Void Blade Art on the spot and fused it with my Imperial Dragon Sword Art and the new Star Dao strands from the bracelet requests.

My first slash was a storm.

Silver-purple light exploded outward. Three puppets lost their heads in a single arc, black blood spraying like ink across the crystal forest. I spun, Time strands slowing the next wave by a heartbeat, and drove my sword through two more chests. Their cores shattered with wet cracks, bodies collapsing into void mist.

Blood and void essence rained down.

Hei Ming's eyes narrowed. "Not bad for a Core Formation ant."

He descended personally, palm outstretched. A black vortex the size of a small mountain formed above the palace — Void Devouring Palm, powerful enough to erase an entire star island.

I activated every defensive array I had built for Crimson Nebula World. Golden light flared across the planet. Then I countered with my own technique, newly perfected from the merchant guild's gifts: Star-Severing Dragon Slash.

Space compressed the distance between us. Time slowed the falling vortex just enough. Star Dao amplified the strike with cosmic force.

Our attacks collided.

The sky screamed.

The vortex shattered like glass, shards of void energy slicing into the puppets below and turning dozens into mist. My sword continued upward, carving a deep gash across Hei Ming's left shoulder. Black blood sprayed, his robes tearing open to reveal pale, ancient flesh.

He roared in fury and pain.

"You dare wound me?!"

He unleashed his true power. The entire planet trembled as he summoned the Grand Dao of Void at full strength — reality itself began to collapse around him, stars winking out one by one.

I blinked back to the palace balcony, sword dripping, chest heaving but eyes burning with excitement. The God Rock was singing, absorbing more Void Dao strands with every second of the fight.

"This is what I needed," I whispered. "More Daos. More techniques."

Below, my new territory's arrays held. The floating islands glowed with protective runes I had forged from bracelet materials. Li Qing's voice reached me through a private transmission jade — calm, fierce, loving.

"End him, husband. Our family is watching."

I smiled savagely and charged back into the fray.

The battle for Crimson Nebula World had only just begun.

Chapter 17: The Death of a Sovereign

The void puppets kept coming, but I was no longer defending.

I was hunting.

Every time Hei Ming tried to press his advantage with another Void Devouring Palm, I used the God Rock to copy and counter it perfectly. My sword became a blur of fused Daos — Sword, Space, Time, Lightning, Star, and now growing strands of Void itself. Each clash carved new wounds into the Sovereign's body.

He lost his right arm in a spatial-compressed strike that severed it at the shoulder. Black blood fountained across the sky like a dark waterfall. The arm tumbled downward, still twitching with void energy, and crashed into a crystal mountain, shattering it.

"You… insect!" Hei Ming screamed, face twisted in agony and disbelief. Mid-stage Void Shattering, yet he was being pushed back by a Core Formation cultivator.

I didn't give him time to recover.

I blinked behind him using perfected Space Dao and drove my sword straight through his spine. The blade erupted from his chest in a spray of gore. He gasped, void qi leaking from the wound like smoke.

But a Sovereign was hard to kill.

He spun, sacrificing the last of his left arm to grab my sword and pull me close. His remaining hand formed a point-blank Void Implosion Sphere — a black sun that could erase anything it touched.

For one terrifying heartbeat, I felt the pull of true oblivion.

Then the God Rock flared brighter than ever.

Time slowed to a crawl around the sphere. I copied the implosion technique mid-formation, reversed its flow with my own Time and Space strands, and slammed my free palm into Hei Ming's chest.

The sphere detonated — but inward, into him.

His torso exploded in a fountain of black blood and shredded organs. Ribs, spine, and half his lungs scattered across the battlefield in wet chunks. The Void Sovereign staggered backward, eyes wide with shock, mouth opening and closing soundlessly.

I finished it cleanly.

One final Dragon Severing Slash, infused with every Dao I had stolen from him.

The blade flashed.

Hei Ming's head separated from his shoulders in a perfect, bloodless arc at first — then the neck stump erupted like a geyser. The decapitated head spun through the air, face frozen in eternal disbelief, before smashing into the ground far below.

His headless corpse hung in the sky for one final second, then collapsed into dissipating void mist.

The remaining puppets froze, then shattered into black dust as their master's will vanished.

Silence fell over Crimson Nebula World.

I stood alone in the blood-soaked sky, sword dripping, robes torn but body unharmed. The God Rock hummed with satisfaction, having devoured massive amounts of pure Void Dao and Hei Ming's personal techniques.

Li Qing rushed out from the sanctum, Xingchen and Qinglan in her arms. She threw herself against me, kissing me fiercely despite the blood.

"You did it," she whispered, tears of relief and pride in her eyes. "Our home is safe."

That night we celebrated in the palace. After the children slept, Li Qing and I made love with raw, victorious passion — her body moving against mine like fire, moaning my name until dawn.

The God Rock had grown stronger. My cultivation pushed toward late-Core Formation. New void techniques waited to be perfected.

And the news was already spreading across the Starry Sky.

Chapter 18: Empire of the Stars

Word of Void Sovereign Hei Ming's death spread like a supernova.

Within days, messengers from every major star force arrived at Crimson Nebula World. They came bearing gifts, treaties, and offers of alliance. My Tianhen Void Anchors were no longer just trinkets — they were legendary artifacts. Cultivators now called me "the Bracelet Sovereign" or "Void-Slayer Tianhen."

The Starlight Merchant Guild returned first, offering to double our trading territory in exchange for exclusive rights to sell my bracelets across thirty star systems. I accepted and immediately expanded Crimson Nebula World's borders by annexing two neighboring lifeless planets, turning them into resource mining worlds using the new void techniques I had stolen from Hei Ming.

More requests flooded in.

A delegation from the ancient Nebula Emperor Sect knelt before my throne and begged for fifty bracelets for their royal heirs. In return they gifted an entire floating asteroid belt rich in star essence and a complete manual on Nebula Grand Dao. I crafted the bracelets in public, letting the God Rock absorb the new Dao on the spot. My influence grew overnight.

Li Qing stood beside me during every audience, radiant and regal, our children playing safely in the palace gardens under heavy guard. At night she rewarded me with deep, loving passion — her legs wrapped around me as we moved together slowly, whispering how proud she was of the empire I was building for our family.

With the wealth and materials pouring in, I expanded aggressively.

I used the God Rock to stabilize three new spatial rifts, claiming two additional life-bearing planets for our territory. Defensive arrays were upgraded across the entire Crimson Nebula System. New cities rose on the floating islands, populated by loyal cultivators who had sworn fealty after receiving my bracelets.

Fame turned into power.

Sect leaders who once ignored minor forces now sent daughters of royal blood as "cultural envoys" — beautiful, talented women who openly expressed interest in becoming my wives. I remained devoted to Li Qing, politely declining every offer while using the meetings to copy new techniques and expand alliances.

By the end of the month, Crimson Nebula World had grown into a true stellar kingdom spanning seven planets and dozens of star islands. My storage rings overflowed with treasures. My cultivation broke through to peak Core Formation, and the God Rock now held strands of seven Grand Daos.

One evening, as the twin suns set over our palace, Li Qing leaned against me on the balcony, our children asleep inside.

"Look what you've built," she said softly, kissing my neck. "From trash to sovereign of the stars. And you still come to me every night like I'm the only woman in the universe."

I pulled her close. "Because you are my first and eternal flame. The rest is just conquest."

Later that night, after passionate hours of lovemaking that left us both trembling and satisfied, I stood alone on the roof and looked out at the vast Starry Sky.

Void Sovereign Hei Ming was dead.

My family was safe and thriving.

My territory was expanding.

And my name was becoming legend.

But I knew more powerful eyes were already turning toward the God Rock — ancient existences from deeper realms who would not make the same mistake as Hei Ming.

I gripped my sword, the God Rock humming in approval.

Let them come.
