Chapter 4 - a wish they always held

The house felt calm.

Too calm.

Jeena arranged the table.

Serina sat beside her.

Talking softly.

Smiling.

Like always.

Then…

The door opened.

Jasfer and Keizer walked in.

Both unusually quiet.

Jeena noticed first.

"You both look serious."

Serina frowned slightly.

"What happened?"

Jasfer looked at Keizer.

Keizer nodded.

"Say it."

Jasfer took a breath.

"We were talking about the kids."

Jeena smiled softly.

"They must have done something again."

Keizer shook his head.

"No."

"This time… it's us."

Serina looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

A pause.

Jasfer said it slowly.

"We thought…"

"Why not fix Jay and Keifer's marriage?"

Silence.

Complete silence.

Jeena froze.

Serina's eyes widened.

Neither spoke.

Not immediately.

Jasfer got worried.

"Say something…"

Serina looked at Jeena.

Jeena looked back at her.

And then…

Tears filled their eyes.

Jasfer panicked.

"Hey… what happened?"

Keizer stepped closer.

"Did we say something wrong?"

Serina wiped her tears.

A soft laugh escaping.

"Wrong?"

Jeena smiled through tears.

"You said it late."

Jasfer blinked.

"Late?"

Jeena nodded slowly.

"We wanted this…"

"For so long."

Keizer looked surprised.

"You did?"

Serina smiled warmly.

"From the day they were kids."

Jeena's voice softened.

"Jay always liked coming to your house."

Serina nodded.

"And Keifer…"

"He was always happy around her."

Jasfer and Keizer exchanged looks.

Speechless.

Jeena laughed softly.

"We thought… maybe one day…"

Serina continued.

"They'll be together."

Tears rolled down again.

But this time…

They were happy.

Jasfer smiled deeply.

"Then it's perfect."

Keizer nodded.

"More than perfect."

Serina held Jeena's hand.

"Our wish…"

"Is finally coming true."

Jeena squeezed her hand gently.

"Yes."

"But…"

Both women paused.

At the same time.

"They won't agree easily."

Jasfer sighed.

"We know."

Keizer added.

"But we'll convince them."

Serina smiled a little.

"They're stubborn."

Jeena laughed.

"Like their fathers."

Everyone smiled.

The room felt warm again.

Filled with hope.

Filled with dreams.

Dreams they held…

For years.

For their children.

For this moment.

Outside…

The sky slowly turned golden.

A new beginning.

Was already on its way.

And inside…

Four hearts felt light.

Because something they always wanted…

Was finally happening.
