The world grew quiet as Josh slowly distanced himself from the reality he knew in his mind. His smile dropped. He looked around, seeing people shouting at him or running away, but everything seemed to move in slow motion, as if the world really didn't matter to him. He felt a slight touch on his leg, looked down to see Ade looking back at him, confused, then at the police, who looked horrified. He felt something warm fall down his chest and through his shirt. He saw eight bullet holes embedded in his chest, and his hands glowed before removing every last one of them. He then saw the ambulance right behind the cops. He looked back down, seeing Finley barely hanging on and now knocked out, Isabella. He walked over to them, picked them up, and heard more shouting before walking over to the ambulance, gently placing them down. One of the cops barked, "Place your hands behind your head now!" Josh looked around, seeing everyone before saying, "No!" then snapping his finger and vanishing. He looked outside his house, now pulling out the keys, unlocking his door, walking through the house, getting clothes off, locking the bathroom doors, and taking a shower.
Ade got up as people started to cheer, and the cops just looked over, unsure what to do next. Carlos touched his shoulder, "What do you think we should do next?" Ade clenched his teeth, "We need to stop him one way or another."
Josh was about to wash his hair, as he felt the stream of water wash down his back. Seeing blood wash away, it wasn't his; it was a mix of others. Carlos teleported, and they both met each other. Carlos went red in the face before looking away to a nearby wall. He streamed out his words, "I… I can come back later… Once you are done." Josh started to wash his hair, saying, "You wanted to talk to me, so talk." Carlos sighed, "Okay, are you feeling all their Josh?" Josh walked out of the shower, picking up a towel. causing Carlos to move. Josh said, "Of course, I feel better than ever." Carlos was about to speak before saying, "Do you mind putting some clothes on?" He did not respond. Josh carried on drying himself. Carlos kept looking at the wall. Josh opened the door to the sink area of the bathroom, and at that point, Carlos gave up. He looked at Josh, saying, "Josh, we are worried about you." Josh turned around, Carlos, then got up. Josh just smiled, "I fixed my mistake, so everything is good." Carlos was about to say something, yet stopped himself. Josh opens the door as his friends report who were right outside his door. Nimuel looked away. Ade didn't. Nimuel pushed him. Ade just replied, "There is nothing there I like." Josh walked towards his room, opening the door. Carlos spoke up, "What if your kids walked in on you like this?"Josh said hey not coming home for another hour and thirty minutes." The house went quiet again before Ade broke the silence, "You can't treat people like that!"Josh flicked ever so slightly, putting his clothes on, and a more jolly tone, "I fix the mistake that I made. Like I always do," Ade snapped back, "You always seem to try to fix your mistake, leader!" Josh turned his whole body. "What did you say!?" Fear struck Ade, yet he pushed past it. "I have empathy for others. Unlike you, Joshua!"Josh snarled back, "I do have empathy for others, but not monsters or villains!" Ade walked towards him, "They were not the monster you are!" Josh glowed, pushing everyone back, "Enough of this." He was about to snap his finger, glaring at Ade, "I'm not your pet, you can just control me like that." Carlos and Nimuel walked towards Ade. Josh's eyes stop glowing, opening his hands just to close his fist. Carlos spoke gently, "Josh, why are you acting like this?" Ade snapped, "I have been wanting to tell you this for a while, and now this seems like the best opportunity I have had. That's the problem with you, Josh -" walking closer to him, "- you have no real empathy for others. They are just your plaything, then you get tired of them and start over. You don't like it when they don't play by your own rules!" Josh slapped him to the ground. Josh looked at himself, his hand and body shaking, surprised by his own actions. "I….I..I..I." Josh looked at Carlos and Nimuel. They just backed away from him. Carlos said, "It's true we've been wanting to talk about this for a while, but we knew you would never really listen." That information hit Josh like a pile of bricks, trying to think of an answer. "I'm-" Ade glared at him venomously in his voice, "Saveit!" Teleporting away as the light flicked around. Josh reached his hand out to Carlos and Nimuel before they teleported. His legs buckled, falling to the ground, whispering to himself, "I'm… sorry." He groaned as he walked to a window, seeing that one of them was still broken, seeing himself. His reflection changed from his childhood self to his mid-teens to early adulthood. To his dark past finally to himself he cried to himself in silence, and yelled out in pain.
Mary looked into the car near the mirror, sighing, seeing the kids in the back, not saying anything now. Mary parked in the driveway, walked up to the door, heard movement, and made a small knife from thin air in her hand. Unlocking the door and opening it just to see Josh. She sighed before making the knife disappear. He smiled at her, turning his whole body with a large white porcelain plate of sandwiches. He pointed to some of them, and she picked them up. It was a turkey and provolone. The rest of the kids walked in, saw the sandwiches, and picked up the different varieties. Everyone looked at Tala, the only one who believed grilled cheese was the best. Josh sighed, "Enough of the judging back of your bookbag, we are going to relax." The kids put down their bookbags, and he pushed them towards the couch. Everyone sat down. He said, "We have sat down as a family and watched a movie we all want to watch, let's change that today." He snapped his finger, turning on the TV, "Find a movie while I go and finish cleaning up the kitchen." They all looked confused as Josh walked into the kitchen. Wendy looked at her mom, saying, "Is Dad okay?" She smiled warmly and said, "Find a movie while I go back to your dad and don't cause any issues." She has changed personally." Josh looked at her, closing the fridge door, knowing in his heart what she really meant. She walked closer in a gentle voice, "Why did you do it?" He stopped looking down, biting his lips til the blood started to break through. "I'm sorry about what I have been doing lately." Mary clenched her teeth, starting to lose patience, "Sorry is not even close to what you did." She looked away from him. He looked down, trying to say something, but he couldn't muster what to say. She touched his shoulder, trying to be strong under a blanket of irritation. "Let's watch the movie and talk about this after the kids go to sleep." They found a cheesy action and fantasy book turned into a movie. It was called "Galaxy Crown" to watch. Josh couldn't focus fully on the movie; his mind was running with different situations. Later, Josh did make dinner, and it was beef chilli. As the day becomes night and they tuck everyone in and be. Mary and Josh sat in bed looking at each other, both unsure what to say, "Mary, I..." Josh looked out the window, seeing his friend's house, groaning, Mary rubbing his back, muttering under her breath, then saying, "We are going to need to talk about this, but I think you should talk to your friends about what you did." Josh slightly smiled, saying, "How did I marry such an amazing woman?" Trying to kiss her forehead, but she deflected, furrowing her eyebrows. She walked away from him into the bathroom and replied, "I'm still not sure." He tried to reach his hand out, putting it down, looking out the window, and groaning to himself.
Josh closed his eyes, turning over in a grassy field, and he picked up a blue bonnet. Getting up, looking around, it was quiet, not a single soul around him. He still had fresh scars and cuts from his fight with his brother. He walked to a nearby village called Bidai, where the Bidai tribe smiled at him, some of the younger people pointing spears at him. The chief yelled out something he spoke to him that was nice to him. He only stayed one day. They did a festival and served food better than most food on that day, historians wished they knew about. To this day, he tries to remember some of their language, but that skill has been lost over time. He now only remembers some sentences and nicknames, but barely remembers their faces. He left the tribe, walking across the American continents before moving to Asia, visiting the Ming dynasty. He went from country to country, giving aid when necessary or destroying kingdoms and nations when it became necessary in his mind. He wiped the blood from his face as he left the Kingdom of Naples, the capital city of Naples. He walked farther to reach the city of Rome, where he met his friends. They were in a small cafe. He sat down at the outside table, sighing. Mary looked at him, "Are you fine?" He replied, "I'm fine… just had an issue to solve." He remembers hearing the screams. Nimual looked at him, touching his hand, causing Josh to flinch before calming down. "We are here for you to talk to." Josh thought about a lie he could say, then, giving Mary a blue bonnet, she blushed. He gave her a quick peck on the mouth, which annoyed his friend. Mary rolled her eyes. "It's normal for new couples to show affection to each other." She looked directly at Ade. "What about you? I saw you look at a couple of women." Josh looked surprised. "You're trying to get a girlfriend?" Ade's snarky response, "I'm fine with women for now, but I know these two do not focus on women." They laughed, and Nimual replied, "I'm focused on myself," Carlos said, "I'm just not interested in anyone." He gave a glance at Nimual before looking at Josh. They gave each other a knowing look. They sat back looking at the sunset. They later walked through a small alleyway, teleporting to London to their large 19th-century mansion. Most of the windows were boarded up. Carlos unlocked the door as they walked in, hitting the large brown fur couch. Mary said, "I'm going to cook dinner. Nimual wants to help." Nimual got up excited, saying, "I got a recipe I want to try." They left until their footsteps faded. Carlos and Josh tapped their water glasses. Which was turned into wine by Josh. Carlos took a sip. "I love your tricks." They drink a couple more sips, Carlos saying, "I got something I want to say to him." He moved closer, grabbed his closest friend, and they looked into each other's eyes. Josh wondered what he could be talking about. He asked, "Is this about Nimual because I could bring him over?" Carlos assured him, "No it's about me and my emotions." Josh thought he was going to say, "Is it about you getting stuck in the closet?" Trying to make Carlos laugh made him laugh. Carlos got embarrassed. "You know that closet wasn't my fault." Ade walked in. "Are we talking about how Carlos got stuck in that closet?" Carlos blurted out, "It's not about the closest guys!" Carlos calmed himself down, saying, "I'm going to see Jackson and Nina I will be back." Carlos teleported away before they could respond. Ade and Josh laughed to themselves. Ade said, "You know we'll always be friends, right?" He took a swig of wine as Josh replied, "Of course. " Josh woke up looking around his bed with emptiness. He looked around, seeing his friend's house. He touched the window with a soft touch, saying, "Man."
