'My talent is now 85! Yes, this is 5% more than I expected!'
Koji was absolutely overjoyed at the conclusion of this matter, after all he had just endured an extreme amount of pain to achieve this.
But there was a pressing matter at hand.
His parents!
Mei's face contorted in anger, but obviously she felt as if the weight of a mountain was now lifted off her shoulders.
"Koji! Do you realize that you could have died?!"
She instantly ran to him, her footsteps not being light anymore; Koji expected this outcome already, so he was thoroughly prepared.
He long decided to just play as a innocent six year old who was worried about his parents view of him.
"I heard you and dad talking about it and I just... I'm sorry mommy! I just wanted to prove I could do it!"
He tried to cry while saying it, but his deceptive abilities had not reached that level yet.
Well, he could cry; however, it would take him at least a bit of time to start crying and it wouldn't look as convincing as he would want it to.
Best he could do was put on an expression of deep regret and sorrow.
"Please mommy forgive me!"
Mei's expression instantly softened as she saw Koji begging, although she was mentally strong when it came to most situations, seeing her son in such a pitiful state sent ripples through her heart.
In fact, she was the one who started crying!
Her blue eyes glistened like the sea and gradually started to rain down tears. Even a hardened battle soldier may feel pity at seeing such a beauty cry like this.
"Koji, baby it's okay. Mommy isn't angry at you..."
She hugged Koji to her bosom, her pale arms covered by her white robes enveloping him completely.
"It's just, you could have died Koji. We as parents love you very much, losing you would be a devastation equal to losing our own lives."
Koji actually felt bad as she said this, after all he wasn't completely cold hearted. He still cared for other people, it's just he cared way more about himself.
"I won't do it again mommy! I swear!"
Well, at least he hoped he wouldn't have to. After all, he was a big hater of life and death situations; in truth he would avoid them like a plague in 99% of situations, even if there was huge benefits. But this time was unexpected, he actually did want to quit before he got to 10%, but for some reason he couldn't stop himself. All he could do was hope this type of thing never happened again, or even had the chance of happening.
Admittedly, that was unlikely.
Mei's slender arms tightened around Koji's short body, her long fingers stroking his white hair.
"Let's move on now, it's not good to stay in a state of such worry."
Ivan walked over, rubbing his wife's back. Of course, he didn't actually know if this would help but recently Lucy told him if his wife is in worry rubbing her back would help.
He didn't get why it would, but he decided to do it anyway.
Mei lightly smiled as she felt her husbands hand on her back, it felt warm and loving as he caressed her.
But in truth, he felt slightly restless seeing his wife in such a pathetic state. In simple terms, he was getting 'excited'.
Naturally, he would never show this!
But as Koji was released from his mothers graceful embrace, and saw the look on his fathers eyes he instantly knew what his father was feeling.
'Maybe me and my father have much more in common than just our names.'
Mei and Ivan made sure Koji knew never to do that again, then they all left the room to go inform Lucy and Koji's sister of the news.
The atmosphere was no longer tense, rather it was happy and joyful.
Of course, Lucy and Koji's sister knew before they even told them, because nobody was wailing like an animal at their son being eternally gone and in the hands of death.
"Livy! Your brother succeeded!"
Mei said with a happy smile, it would be extremely difficult to describe with words how happy she was.
Livy was the first one to come out her room, she quickly ran over.
Livy was now nine, seeing her younger brother succeed brought great joy to her.
"I'm so proud of you Koji!"
Her red eyes, contrary to their scary appearance were beaming with love. Her pale face although usually not showing much color, looked as if it was a rainbow due to her expression.
She loved her brother very much.
Right after her, Lucy also came out of her room. But contrary to Livy, she was not running.
She was informed of the news, but her reaction was unlike that of Livy's.
She had a bit of a different approach...
When Koji was just a baby she was extremely affectionate towards him, but now that he was growing older she realized he would be maturing, and she was a bit scared of showing her feelings to people at times.
"Lucky! I had to break my Xin core at nine, but you were able to at six!"
But she was unable to contain all of her true emotions, so even as she said that it still sounded only teasing and contained a large undertone of happiness.
Koji felt that she was extremely cute, but he would not outwardly admit that. Because of course, it would be odd to say his 18 year old cousin is cute.
"Well I'm just stronger!"
He replied like a stubborn six year old would and frowned slightly.
But then his dad walked in, having a still happy expression but also a serious one.
"Well, Koji. It's time to find you a tutor!"
Koji's blue eyes shown with light at hearing this.
A tutor! Already? This was amazing!
'If I can start so early, I may be able to become one of the top talents of this generation! My future is looking amazing!'
Already being able to comprehend Mantras, becoming a Transcendent at six, having 85% talent.
All of these were incredible advantages.
Gradually, everyone settled down and went back to their rooms after enjoying a flavorful dinner.
...
Seven days later.
Koji sat in the living room, his childlike expression glowing with curiosity.
Today was supposed to be the day that his new tutor arrived; he was filled to the brim with excitement.
As he was sitting, a knock came on the front door.
Mei quickly walked over, turning the knob on the door a bit and gently opening it.
As the light from the sun casted into the house, two figures appeared in the doorway.
One was a middle aged man with hazel eyes and short, brown hair with a tall stature. He had arms that made it clear he was stronger than your run of the mill guy.
On the other hand, a much smaller appearance was also revealed at the door.
She was a girl who had white hair and dark, green eyes. She had an expression of happiness and the same curiosity Koji was currently experiencing; she was only around 105 centimeters tall.
Obviously, she was Koji's age too.
Mei smiled lightly, pointing them towards inside the house.
"Welcome Master Lin; there is my son, Koji. He will be the one that you'll be teaching."
