Chapter 8: A God Must Have God-like Stats

After a walk of about ten minutes, Katsuragi Keima first dropped Elsie off at her room before finally returning to his own dormitory.

He placed the things he bought today gently on the table and looked around the room arranged by the school. The space wasn't large, but it was exquisite and compact, fully equipped with all the necessary furniture: an independent bathroom, small kitchen appliances, a desk, and there was even a laptop provided on the table.

It was essentially a perfect bachelor apartment.

"From now on, I can play games here without being disturbed!"

Just as Keima was looking forward to his future life, Elsie's head suddenly popped out from under his armpit.

"Eh! There's only one bed! Then how are Kami-nii-sama and I supposed to sleep?!"

"Aaaaaah! You're obviously going back to your own room to sleep, aaaaaaaah!"

Keima was startled by Elsie's sudden appearance and stumbled back a few steps, nearly falling to the floor.

"Eh? I heard that siblings are supposed to live together?"

"That's for when you normally go home, but our current school is a boarding system, so we definitely have to have one room each!" Keima explained somewhat helplessly. "Besides, there's no point in you pretending to be my younger sister anyway!"

"It was so I could live with Kami-nii-sama!"

"But we're both living at school now, so we're technically living together regardless!"

"Hiss... I feel like what Kami-nii-sama says makes a lot of sense. So that's how it is! It's completely different from what I expected!" Elsie nodded in realization.

"So... you didn't do any preparation at all before joining the mission?"

"Well, before this mission, my duty was cleaning—it lasted for about three hundred years."

"..."

Keima felt a bit helpless; as they talked, he actually found her a little pitiable.

Wait. No.

I'm the pitiable one. I was living my peaceful life when I was dragged into this world for no reason—though there are games here I've never played before that I need to experience properly.

"Kami-nii-sama, do you have a plan for later?" Elsie asked curiously.

"A plan doesn't really matter. You gave me so many tasks; I'll just take it slow. Anyway, the flow of time in this world is different from other worlds, right?"

As Keima spoke, he crouched down and rummaged through the shopping bag, pulling out a handheld console to start playing.

But at that moment, Elsie spoke up again: "You can't be too slow! Theoretically, our mission still has a time limit."

"Huh?"

"At least within three years! After all, if the targets all graduate from high school, it'll be a problem!"

"That is true, but three years?" Keima pushed up his glasses with a smile. "That's more than enough. I am the God who can clear multiple games simultaneously. Calculating based on the remaining time..."

"Kami-nii-sama! I'm not talking about games! I'm talking about the mission targets! What are your intentions for later?" Elsie's tone became a bit more urgent.

"For now, I'll start with the few people in our class. I'll improvise for the rest later. I have to say, I've played many games, but I've never seen one with so many 'capturable' characters. It would be fine if it were just a game, but this is a certain real world..."

Keima placed the console on the table and took a thick stack of cards out of his pocket, letting out an involuntary sigh. Then, as if remembering something, he turned to Elsie and asked, "By the way, since we traveled to this world, is there really no problem with our backgrounds and identities?"

"Don't worry! The Chief of the Spirit Hunters told me that the relevant identity information will be repaired and corrected according to the situation of the original world, so there shouldn't be any need to worry!"

"Should I really not worry... I always feel like you demons aren't very reliable."

Meanwhile, in the school office.

Chabashira Sae, the homeroom teacher of Class 1-D, was scanning through the student rosters.

In this school, A, B, C, and D are not just names to distinguish classes; they represent ranks, with Class D being the lowest existence among them.

Chabashira Sae was once a student assigned to Class D. She nearly made it to Class A but fell short at the final moment. This left her with a massive obsession regarding reaching Class A. Later, she chose to return to the school as a teacher, wanting to lead Class D to Class A.

When she first joined Advanced Nurturing, Chabashira was a meticulous teacher. Her lesson plans were neat and detailed, she never missed after-school tutoring, and regarding class competition, she would do everything possible to provide aid to her students as long as it didn't break rules.

However, the comprehensive quality of Class D students was far too low. The students only wanted to slack off and had no ambition. No matter how hard she worked, the class could not be promoted. Coupled with Hoshinomiya Chie, a fellow teacher who did everything in her power to hinder Chabashira's class, over time, the once-meticulous Chabashira Sae gradually wore down into someone who just did enough to get by.

Until recently.

At this moment, Chabashira Sae's gaze focused on the information of one student.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka

Academic Ability: C Intelligence: C- Judgment: C- Physical Ability: C- Social Contribution (Teamwork): D

The one who interested her most was Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. She had heard about him from the person in charge of the school—Chairman Sakayanagi. He was not an ordinary student, but an existence hiding his true strength; he had deliberately disguised his entrance evaluation info to be mediocre or even poor.

Knowing of Ayanokouji's existence, Chabashira Sae wanted to utilize his abilities to achieve her goal once more: promoting Class D to Class A.

However, now, another person had entered Chabashira Sae's field of vision.

Katsuragi Keima

Academic Ability: A+ Intelligence: A+ Judgment: A+ Physical Ability: E Social Contribution (Teamwork): D-

Before the school term began, Chabashira Sae had carefully observed every student's files, and the name Katsuragi Keima had left a very deep impression on her.

His evaluations in various aspects were incredibly unique. In a sense, in the fields purely related to learning, Katsuragi Keima possessed the qualifications to go straight to Class A.

But why did he appear in Class D? Was it a major personality flaw, or some other reason?

Chabashira Sae wanted to investigate Keima's background, but she found nothing. The same applied to his sister, Katsuragi Elsie.

Could it be... that Keima and his sister, like Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, have an unfathomable background behind them?

If that were truly the case, perhaps she had just gained another trump card in her hand.

Thinking this, the corners of Chabashira Sae's mouth curled up slightly.

"Let me see just what is so special about you."
