Chapter 97 - Love, Chaos, and Uninvited Commentary

The house has officially lost all dignity.

Not in a tragic way.

In a very Filipino, very crowded, very emotionally loud way.

There is tea on the table.

There is awkward silence trying its best.

And there is love—

confused, unlabelled, but undeniably present.

Lee Tries to Confess (But Life Has Other Plans)

Lee Shung-Ho stands first.

Calm.

Composed.

But slightly aware that this environment is more dangerous than any system breach he has ever handled.

He looks at Cielo.

Then the twins.

Then Kevin.

Then the auntie on standby like emotional security personnel.

He exhales.

"…I came here not only because of the children."

Jessa immediately whispers:

"AY ATE KO MAY SECOND PURPOSE."

Lee continues:

"I came because I never stopped thinking about what I lost without knowing I lost it."

Aling Rosa gasps.

"AY GRABE MAY LOST AND FOUND DIN ANG LOVE LIFE."

Kevin Tries Not to Feel Anything (Fails Gently)

Kevin adjusts his glasses.

"…Can we classify this emotionally or medically first?"

Jessa answers immediately:

"Dok, hindi po ito flu."

Kaddie adds:

"It is a long-term unresolved variable."

Kevin sighs.

"…I regret my education."

The Confession

Lee steps slightly closer to Cielo.

Not dramatic.

Not forced.

Just honest movement.

"I don't expect anything," he says.

"But I need you to know…"

Kattie starts playing a soft piano note.

Perfect timing.

Too perfect.

Lee continues:

"You stayed in my mind longer than any system I ever built."

Jessa whispers loudly:

"HUY ANG HIRAP NAMAN MAG MOVE ON KAPAG GANYAN."

Cielo Finally Speaks

Cielo exhales.

"You don't even know me fully."

Lee nods.

"I know enough to recognize when I should not leave things unfinished."

A pause.

Then, quieter:

"And I think… I already started something I never meant to abandon."

Kevin Gets His Unexpected Closure

Kevin looks away.

"…So I'm officially just the emotional support doctor."

Cielo pats his shoulder.

"You're family-adjacent trauma containment."

Kevin nods slowly.

"I accept this downgrade."

Aling Rosa Declares War on Romance

Aling Rosa stands again.

"EH BAKIT HINDI NA LANG KAYO MAG-USAP NG NORMAL?!"

Jessa replies:

"Tita Rosa, love po ito, hindi barangay meeting."

Aling Rosa snaps:

"SA BARANGAY MAS MAAYOS PA ANG MINUTES!"

The Twins Interrupt Destiny

Kaddie suddenly asks Lee:

"Do you understand attachment theory?"

Lee pauses.

"Yes."

Kaddie nods.

"Then you understand we are biologically aligned."

Kattie gently adds:

"He means we feel like you belong here."

The room goes silent for half a second.

Even Aling Rosa forgets to react.

Lee's Softest Moment

Lee looks at them.

Then quietly:

"…I don't know how to be a father."

Kaddie replies immediately:

"Neither did your absence."

Everyone freezes.

Then Kattie softly says:

"But presence can be learned."

Something in Lee's expression breaks open.

Not pain.

Not regret.

Something warmer.

The Romantic Pivot Nobody Was Ready For

Lee turns to Kevin.

"I need to say something."

Kevin stiffens.

"Doctor to patient or man to man?"

Lee answers:

"Man to man."

He bows slightly.

"Thank you for staying when I wasn't here."

Silence.

Kevin scratches his head.

"…I didn't do anything heroic. I just gave checkups and confused emotional advice."

Lee nods.

"That was enough."

Jessa whispers:

"WOW EVEN KEVIN GOT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT."

Business Offer Nobody Expected

Lee continues:

"My family company has infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia."

Kevin blinks.

"…This is going where I think it's going?"

Lee nods.

"I want you involved. Medical programs. Community health systems."

Kevin pauses.

"…So I'm being emotionally compensated with responsibility?"

Jessa screams:

"PROMOTION YAN DOK!"

Kevin sighs.

"Fine. I accept capitalism as therapy."

Jessa Finally Gets Her KPOP Moment

Jessa suddenly raises her hand.

"Excuse me."

Lee looks at her.

"Yes?"

Jessa takes a deep breath.

"Are you… like… THE Lee from that global K-pop business empire thing? The one under the label that produces that viral group that broke the internet last year?"

Lee pauses.

"…Yes."

Jessa freezes.

Then:

"…CAN I HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH OR I WILL FAINT."

Aling Rosa:

"FAINT KA NA LANG, PARA LESS DRAMA."

Lee actually smiles.

A real one.

He signs a small paper from Jessa's phone.

Jessa whispers:

"I peaked in life."

Cielo Finally Lets It Land

Cielo looks at everyone.

At the chaos.

At the warmth.

At the impossible combination of people she never expected to stand in one room.

Then at Lee.

"You came here prepared to change nothing," she says.

Lee nods.

"Yes."

Cielo smirks slightly.

"…You failed."

Lee accepts it.

"Yes."

A pause.

Then softer:

"But I think I succeeded in something else."

The Almost Confession That Becomes Something Gentler

Lee looks at her.

No pressure.

No demand.

Just truth.

"I don't want to force a family," he says.

"But I want to learn how to stay in one."

Silence.

Cielo exhales.

"…That's a very dangerous statement."

Lee nods.

"I am aware."

The Room Finally Breathes

Kaddie goes back to coding.

Kattie resumes playing softly.

Kevin drinks coffee like it is emotional medication.

Jessa keeps staring at her signed paper like it is sacred text.

Aling Rosa is muttering:

"BAKIT ANG DAMING FOREIGN ANG DRAMA NGAYON SA BAHAY NA ITO."

And Cielo?

Cielo is smiling slightly.

Not because everything is solved.

But because nothing is running away anymore.

Final Moment — Not an Ending, Just Staying

Lee looks at Cielo one last time.

"Can I stay… for now?"

Cielo pauses.

Then shrugs lightly.

"…Just don't complicate my groceries again."

Jessa screams:

"THEY'RE BASICALLY DATING IN BULK."

Aling Rosa:

"ANONG BULK?! WALA AKONG NAKIKITANG DISCOUNT!"

Kevin:

"I need a new profession."

And somewhere between laughter, confession, and chaos—

a family that should never have existed in the same timeline

chooses, very inconveniently…

to stay in the same room anyway.
