Chapter 43 - Chapter 15 – Shadows Collide (1926)

Weeks of training had sharpened Josiah's instincts. The enemy attacks were increasing in frequency and ferocity, forcing him to adapt constantly. Tonight, in the northern district, a new threat awaited.

A cloaked figure emerged from a ruined building, radiating a dark, oppressive energy. Another Stand appeared—a shadowy humanoid with close-range combat capabilities, fast and precise, mirroring Solar Titanium's movements almost perfectly.

Josiah's eyes widened. He recognized the similarity immediately. The enemy had a Stand that rivaled his own, and it was synchronized with its user like Solar Titanium with him. This would not be an ordinary fight.

The battle began instantly. Josiah moved with Solar Strike, Hamon-enhanced punches slicing through the night. The enemy countered with equal speed, parrying and retaliating, their Stand moving in mirrored perfection. Each blow sent shockwaves through the streets, shattering crates, doors, and cobblestones.

The fight was relentless. Josiah adjusted constantly, feinting, dodging, and attacking in unpredictable patterns. Solar Titanium responded flawlessly, blocking, striking, and following each subtle shift in his intent. Yet the enemy adapted, countering with skill that pushed him to the limits of both mind and body.

Hours seemed to pass in minutes. Josiah realized the similarity between their Stands allowed for a strange resonance; each strike they landed or blocked tested his understanding of timing, power, and anticipation. Hamon pulsed through him, merging with Solar Titanium's speed and strength to keep him in the fight.

Finally, the enemy retreated into the shadows, leaving a faint black sigil behind. Josiah's chest heaved. The encounter had been a warning—the leader's forces were more dangerous than he had imagined. Yet it had also taught him something vital: he could survive, even against foes as skilled as himself, if he trusted Solar Titanium and his own instincts.
