Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Truth Beneath the Silence

The structure completed itself in silence.

Miles of wreckage fused together—not by force, but by design.

As if they had always been meant to become this.

"What… is that?" Arin breathed.

Elara stared at it, unable to look away.

"I think…" she said slowly, "it's not a graveyard."

Rhea's voice shook. "Then what is it?"

Elara swallowed.

"A message."

The presence returned.

Stronger.

Clearer.

WE WERE MANY.

Images flooded Elara's mind.

Civilizations.

Galaxies.

Endless expansion.

Then—

Darkness.

Consumption.

Erasure.

WE FAILED.

Her breath caught.

"Failed… what?"

The answer came instantly.

TO STOP IT.

The stars around them flickered.

Not physically.

But in her mind.

As if something vast moved between them.

Something unseen.

Something hunting.

Rhea grabbed Elara's arm. "Commander, whatever this is, we don't belong here!"

But Elara understood now.

The signal.

The coordinates.

The graveyard.

It wasn't a trap.

It was a warning.

"No," she said softly.

"We were meant to find this."

Arin stared at her. "Why?"

Elara looked back at the structure.

At the silent remains of countless lost civilizations.

At the thing that spoke without words.

"Because," she said, her voice trembling—

"we're next."
