Jayden's POV
Tutoring ended soon enough.
She got a call halfway through cleaning up her books and hurried off before I could even ask what happened.
Wonder what it was.
Anyway...
Today was Monday.
And the boys and I had sooo much to catch up on after being apart for weeks.
I'm not really someone who goes out much, so I rarely visit their houses.
But today, we'd agreed to meet up at the city park and just hang out for a bit.
I ended up arriving a little earlier than everyone else.
A few minutes later, Jake and Dylan showed up.
Already talking.
Already laughing.
Bruhh... these guys.
"Hey, mister lover boy." Dylan grinned as he playfully punched my shoulder.
"Shut up, man."
...
Yeah.
I said that a little too quickly.
The two of them looked at each other for a second before bursting into laughter.
"Bruh, these holidays are dragging so bad." Jake sighed. "I seriously can't wait to get back to school."
"For real," Dylan agreed. "Home's just way too boring. I've been stuck babysitting my little sister while she forces me to watch her cringe ahh TikToks every single day."
"And me?" Jake pointed to himself dramatically. "I've had to sit through Dad's midday love songs for Mom almost every afternoon."
"Bro sings like he's auditioning for a talent show."
Dylan laughed.
"So real."
I just sat there, listening to the two of them go back and forth.
Not that I minded.
They'd always been like this.
Sometimes I wondered if they ever got tired of talking.
Then Dylan suddenly turned to me.
"So, bro... what've you been up to these days?"
Before I could answer, Jake beat me to it.
"What else?" he shrugged. "Daydreaming about his crush, of course."
They both cracked up again.
"Okay... okay. That's not even funny."
I tried to sound annoyed.
Keyword:
Tried.
"Aight, sorry." Dylan chuckled, finally calming down. "It's just... you're funny when you're like this."
Jake nodded.
"Seriously though, we never get to see this version of Jayden."
He leaned forward with a grin.
"In fact, I don't think I've ever seen this dude in love before."
"Right?!" Dylan agreed immediately.
They both looked at me.
Waiting.
"So..." Jake asked, this time sounding more serious.
"What've you actually been up to? You barely reply to our texts anymore."
"I've been busy with my tutoring sessions."
I answered flatly.
"Ohhh... right."
Jake snapped his fingers.
"I almost forgot about those."
"By the way..." Dylan suddenly spoke up, a mischievous smile creeping onto his face.
"How's your tutor?"
