One week passed.
As the days moved forward, everything seemed to fall back into its usual rhythm.
At least, on the surface.
Inside Damon's company, the atmosphere remained as structured and efficient as ever. Employees moved with quiet urgency, carrying out their tasks with precision. Meetings were held, reports were submitted, and everything followed a system that had long been established.
Jacob had returned to his routine as well.
Seated at his desk, he focused on organizing Damon's schedule, reviewing documents, and making sure everything was aligned for the week ahead. His fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard, his eyes scanning each detail carefully.
Work had always been his escape. And now more than ever, he needed it.
"Jacob." Gabrielle's voice pulled him out of his concentration.
He lifted his head slightly, glancing at her. "Hmm?" he responded softly before looking back at his screen, continuing to type.
"Have you noticed something?" she asked.
