I sat behind my desk, leaning back in my chair as a smug grin pulled at my lips when I remembered the weekend I had.
"What a weekend."
Honestly, I couldn't remember the last time I had enjoyed myself that much... I mean who the fuck knew Hailey could be that wild?
I shook my head and laughed under my breath. "Jesus Christ."
The memory alone was enough to put me in a good mood because for the first time since arriving in New York, I actually felt relaxed, not completely relaxed.
That was impossible with Lucifer running around out there but definitely relaxed enough.
Unfortunately, reality came crashing back the moment my eyes landed on the light case file sitting on my desk.

My smile faded as I reached forward and pulled the file closer... The damn thing was getting heavier every day but not because we were making progress.
