"This is..."
Jenny walked to the edge of the cliff and took a look down, then quickly recoiled in fright.
It was too deep.
Falling down would definitely mean being smashed to pieces.
The ground behind them was vibrating.
A large group of Kangaskhan was charging this way.
The mother Kangaskhan leading them had bloodshot eyes, and an angry Roar erupted from her mouth.
Twenty or thirty Kangaskhan followed behind; each was massive, running like a tank.
The ground trembled, and pebbles were sent bouncing by the vibrations.
They were being attacked from both front and back.
On one side was the stampeding Kangaskhan herd, and on the other was the bottomless cliff.
Jenny's legs began to shake.
"Roy..." her voice trembled slightly, "What do we do?"
The rain soaked her hair, causing blue strands to stick to her cheeks.
Roy looked at the trees protruding from the cliff face.
There was one roughly every five or six meters.
Though they didn't look very sturdy, they should be enough to use for leverage.
He made a judgment in his mind.
"We have to jump."
Roy grabbed Jenny's hand and pulled her into his embrace.
"Jump? Jump off the cliff?"
Jenny's eyes widened as she looked at Roy in disbelief.
She glanced down at the cliff.
It was shrouded in mist and appeared bottomless.
If they jumped... would they still be alive?
"Trust me."
Roy's voice was very calm, so calm that it didn't sound like they were at a life-or-death moment.
He looked at Jenny with a steady gaze, his eyes filled with an unquestionable confidence.
That look seemed to say, 'As long as I'm here, nothing will happen.'
Looking into those eyes, all the panic and fear in Jenny's heart actually began to subside slowly.
It was as if...
As long as this person was by her side, there was nothing to fear.
She took a deep breath and nodded.
Then she reached out and tightly hugged Roy's waist.
Jenny's arms wrapped around Roy's waist, using all her strength.
She buried her face in Roy's chest, pressing her entire body against him.
"Hold on tight."
Roy took a deep breath.
The blue light in his eyes lit up again, more intense than before.
He activated his Psychic power, enveloping both of their bodies.
Then, he leaped!
The sound of the wind whistled in their ears.
Jenny closed her eyes and buried her face in Roy's chest.
She could hear Roy's heartbeat.
"Thump, thump, thump..."
It was very steady and powerful.
It hadn't quickened at all because of the jump.
It was as if this was just a common, trivial matter to Roy.
An inexplicable sense of security welled up in Jenny's heart.
And also...
A tiny, indescribable flutter.
She had never been so intimate with a man before.
Roy's body was very hot, like a furnace.
That heat transferred through their soaked clothes, making her whole body feel weak.
She could smell the scent of Roy, mixed with rain, sweat, and a hint of earth.
It wasn't unpleasant; instead, it had a masculine, hormonal aggression to it.
Jenny's face grew redder and redder.
But she didn't dare open her eyes.
She was afraid that as soon as she did, she would see the bottomless abyss.
...
Roy didn't use teleportation.
Teleportation was hard to control when landing in this kind of situation.
He used the Levitation aspect of his Psychic power.
The blue glow enveloped their bodies, slowing their descent.
From a free fall, it turned into a slow drift downward.
The wind blew past their ears, and raindrops hit their faces.
The first crooked tree appeared before his eyes.
Roy reached out and lightly pressed against the trunk.
Leverage.
Their bodies drifted slightly to the side and continued to fall.
The second tree.
The third tree.
Every few meters they fell, Roy would use the trees protruding from the cliff face to buffer them.
The descent was very slow, slow enough that Jenny could feel the touch of the wind flowing past her.
She peeked through a slit in her eyes.
She saw the rocks and weeds on the cliff face slowly gliding past.
The speed wasn't fast; it could even be described as... very steady.
Just like riding an elevator.
Jenny closed her eyes again and buried her face back into Roy's chest.
This time, she held him even tighter.
Finally, Roy's feet touched solid ground.
The bottom of the cliff was a patch of soft grass.
Because it was shrouded in mist year-round, the grass here was exceptionally lush and green, feeling soft like a carpet when stepped on.
Nearby was a small stream, the water clear to the bottom, making a tinkling sound.
The surrounding air was very moist, carrying the scent of earth and green grass.
Quiet.
Very quiet.
The sounds of those Pokemon running and Roaring from before were all gone.
Only the sound of rain, the stream, and the breathing of the two people remained.
"It's okay now."
Roy said softly, releasing his hold on Jenny.
Jenny's body swayed, and she subconsciously reached out to grab Roy's arm again.
She was afraid her legs were too weak to stand steady.
Roy didn't push her away, letting her lean on him.
Jenny slowly opened her eyes and found herself standing on a patch of grass.
Above them was the cliff, shrouded in mist, its top invisible.
All around was dense forest, but strangely, this forest was very quiet, with no movement from stampeding Pokemon.
"We... we're down?"
Jenny looked up at the cliff, then back at Roy, her eyes wide.
A cliff dozens of meters high, and he just jumped.
And without a single injury.
This was no longer something an ordinary person could do.
"That incredible power, you really were the one using it..."
Jenny's voice was a bit shaky, but more so with excitement.
She remembered the blue light in Roy's eyes during the Tommy incident.
She remembered the feeling of space warping during the teleportation earlier.
And now, the ability to drift down from a cliff as if walking on level ground.
"You... you're amazing, Roy..."
Jenny looked up at Roy, rain streaming down her cheeks.
"It was nothing."
Roy smiled, his tone as casual as if he had just jumped down from a step.
Jenny wanted to say more, but suddenly...
"Achoo!"
She sneezed.
The rain was too cold, she was soaked to the bone, and the wind blowing over was a bit chilly.
Roy took off his jacket and draped it over Jenny's shoulders.
The jacket still held his body heat, feeling warm and cozy.
Jenny was stunned for a moment and looked up at Roy.
Roy's T-shirt underneath was also soaked, clinging to his body and revealing the contours of his chest and abdominal muscles.
He had a great physique, not the exaggerated muscles from intentional training, but the lean strength honed from years of combat.
Broad shoulders and a narrow waist, the muscle lines on his arms were smooth and powerful.
Rain flowed down his neck, along the curves of his chest, and into the grooves of his abs.
Jenny took one look and her face turned red again.
She quickly lowered her head and wrapped Roy's jacket a bit tighter.
The jacket smelled like him.
It smelled very good.
...
The rain was getting heavier.
Large raindrops crashed down, splashing into water flowers on the ground.
The mist was also getting thicker, and visibility became very low.
Jenny looked up at the sky, her brow furrowing.
"When it starts raining in this Reserve, there's no telling when it will stop!"
She shielded her forehead with her hand, but rain still kept hitting her eyes.
"Sometimes it rains for days, the mountain streams will swell, and it'll be even more trouble then."
"We need to find a place to take shelter from the rain quickly."
Roy nodded and looked around.
He hadn't been to this area at the bottom of the cliff before.
The surroundings were dense forest, the trees very lush with branches and leaves intertwined, barely able to block part of the rain.
But it was only a part.
Both of their clothes were already soaked; staying outside would definitely lead to a cold.
"Let's go that way."
The two quickly headed deep into the forest, searching for a place to shelter from the rain...
