Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: Guest

The information Caleb possessed went far beyond Lissandra's expectations. Even she fell into panic for a moment.

Across those long, distant ages, only a few exceptionally gifted and absolutely loyal Frost Priests had ever known this secret. And even then, Lissandra had seen people with ironclad wills collapse after glimpsing a fragment of the truth, after learning the true face of the world and the enemies they would one day have to face.

No matter how firm a person's heart was, that kind of revelation would shake them. This was not merely a new piece of knowledge. It overturned one's entire understanding of the world. In that situation, once a mind was broken, even Lissandra could not mend it.

Yet the man before her seemed to have said it all with effortless ease.

Lissandra began to suspect that this man really was insane.

To be able to speak of such things so naturally, something had to be seriously wrong with him.

"Hmm, how about we get everyone here before we talk?"

Caleb looked at Lissandra's face, which had once been as cold and still as an ice sculpture, now twisting into a conflicted expression. He could guess most of what she was thinking.

"Is everyone not already here?"

The brows behind Lissandra's blindfold furrowed. In her sight, aside from the two Warmothers, almost everyone else carried an extraordinarily powerful presence.

Could it be that they still had another card she had not seen?

For the sake of preserving the Frostguard's strength, Lissandra did not mind signing an agreement with these people and forming a temporary alliance. After all, their abilities were so formidable that a direct clash would only leave both sides wounded.

She had lived far too long to accept such a losing bargain.

But if there were more of them?

Was this not supposed to be the gathering of every elite force in the west?

Caleb's next action, however, shocked Lissandra on the spot.

Lightning danced between his fingers. Above the sky, thunder rolled and crashed like endless war drums.

Boom. Boom.

It was as if an extraordinarily powerful heart were beating, shaking the space between heaven and earth.

Lissandra remembered that sound. It was after that relentless, mighty heartbeat that she had been stripped of her sight.

"You actually formed an alliance with Volibear!"

Lissandra was furious. Though Volibear had been suppressed by her for a very long time, the moment she saw the Winter's Claw and the Ursine join forces, she knew that the god of the old ways, the one who worshiped slaughter, had not abandoned hope.

Now lightning was leaping directly from Caleb's hand. What did that mean?

It could almost be stated with certainty, Caleb was commanding the most primal thunder of the Freljord.

The meaning behind that was self-evident.

Sejuani's expression also changed. She had originally thought Caleb had merely survived a disaster. Now, it seemed he had instead become Volibear's herald.

And Caleb's next movement only confused everyone even more.

Caleb drew his blade. Youmuu's Wraithblade no longer looked like a clear, bright sword. Instead, it seemed to be burning with raging flames.

Throughout the entire hall, the solid ice had already begun to melt into water.

The sound of metal striking metal rang out, as if it too resounded across heaven and earth.

This time, Lissandra was even more thrown off balance.

The last time she had heard that sound was when she visited the god of forge and craft at Hearth-Home.

Among all the clanging hammer blows, only Ornn's strikes had been the loudest. With each swing of his hammer, the entire room would be covered in sparks.

After the fall of the old ways, Lissandra had never heard that sound again.

Back then, she had been rather pleased to watch that battle between thunder and molten rock from the sidelines.

And now, at this very moment, two enormous figures had already drawn near the Frostguard Citadel.

Caleb quietly reached into his pocket and snapped that sword in half.

With the help of that thing, Caleb had already summoned three supreme beings.

"I am the storm!"

The towering doorway finally welcomed guests worthy of its size.

"You came too, Ornn? I thought you would die beside your forge, hammer in hand."

Volibear's voice was filled with mockery, while Ornn's voice remained utterly calm.

For the two of them, appearing anywhere in the Freljord did not actually take much time.

"At this moment, Aatrox is still on his way here, flying over with his wings spread."

Compared with the two of them, Aatrox was fighting on unfamiliar ground, so he was naturally a little slower to arrive.

"Heh, how interesting."

Even after seeing Lissandra and the two demigods, Aatrox showed no trace of fear.

Now, everyone's gaze gathered on a single person.

Caleb.

What exactly had he done?

How had so many demigod-level figures all answered his summons?

"So this is why you sent me away!"

Tryndamere's eyes burned with fury. The enemy who had slaughtered his entire tribe was right in front of him, yet the current him was powerless to do anything.

Whether one-on-one or all of them together, none of them could possibly be a match for any one of these four demigod-level figures.

Perhaps Caleb was the exception.

After he had gone missing so many times, no one knew how he had dealt with those troubles.

Looking at things now, could this guy actually have some kind of brainwashing ability?

But no matter what, being able to make both Ornn and Volibear come help him was far too shocking.

"Hmm, now that you two are here, is the phoenix coming?"

Caleb was still a little disappointed. After all, he had even brought the Warmothers of the two largest tribes in the Freljord.

Wasn't she supposed to like supporting human tribes? Why was she not showing up now?

His words reminded the two brothers. The two of them, who had originally been about to fight, now drew back their glowing claws and horns.

A feather drifted from nowhere, swaying gently until it floated before Caleb.

Then a pair of enormous wings appeared in front of him.

"Good. Now everyone's here."

A brilliant smile appeared on Caleb's face. This was what he had expected.

As the saying went, when the sky falls, let the giants hold it up.

These three were the earliest demigods to appear in the Freljord, alongside Lissandra, who had once led humanity and ruled the Freljord.

Add Aatrox, an Ascended who had fought the Void, on top of that.

If they did not count as giants, who did?

Only after them would it be the turn of peak human fighters like Caleb, Ashe, and Sejuani.

"Then, Volibear, I want to ask you a question."

Now that Anivia had arrived, Caleb spoke without the slightest hesitation.

It had to be said that even Lissandra seemed a step beneath these special "guests" in terms of presence.

Caleb, however, was truly speaking to them as an equal.

"Your Ursine territory lies in the northern reaches of the Freljord. Why have you allowed the Balestriders to run rampant there?"

After Caleb said this, even Anivia looked over curiously.

In terms of raw strength, Anivia could not defeat the Balestriders. She could only trade her life for theirs.

However, for Anivia, who possessed the power of rebirth, that was absolutely not a losing trade. The Balestriders had also grown clever, refusing to confront Anivia head-on.

Because of that, Anivia had changed her strategy and placed her hopes on Volibear in the north, hoping that battle maniac could solve these calamities.

"Those Balestriders are connected to the Void beneath the abyss."

Caleb's voice sank. His eyes fixed tightly on Volibear.

For a moment, the two of them seemed locked in confrontation.
