Early in the morning, Michael woke Deborah up in order to go meet Pamela.
Deborah held on tight to Michael’s hand, glancing over at him worried every now and then as she followed at his wake.
“Er… Grand priest.”
“Yes, Priestess Deborah.”
“Er, I’m really, fine… I don’t need to go see mom…”
“Priestess Deborah.”
Reaching before Pamela’s bedroom, Michael kneeled before Deborah, meeting her at her eye level.
He spoke with his eyes tensed.
“Didn’t I tell you before? Duke Whistriner couldn’t possibly be someone so heartless. I’m sure she only ignored Priestess Deborah without a choice since His Majesty was there as well.”
“…Do you really think so?”
Considering what happened yesterday, that didn’t seem likely at all, but…
Deborah was hesitating, not wanting to get hurt again. but looking at the conviction in Michael’s eyes, she merely sighed and nodded.
